Proposed merger to atmospheric window[edit]

I agree with merging the relevant bits of this article to atmospheric window, but there is content here that wouldn't fit there. The use of 'optical window' in the context of tissue optics in medical physics wouldn't be mergeable. If we had a larger article on tissue optics then a merge there would be appropriate, but until we do, we should probably keep at least that part of this article. This would make it pretty much a disambiguator, right? Sounds good. Jim.henderson (talk) 13:27, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Agreed again - I think this article (and Radio window and Infrared window) should be merged into Atmospheric window. Maybe the best thing would be a new article Window (optics) for the optical component, keeping this page for the medical physics usage at least for the time being, with links to the other uses - roughly as TenOfAllTrades said. I don't mind doing some of this if there's a consensus in that direction. ChrisHodgesUK (talk) 20:01, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

I agree. Merge the three articles on atmospheric windows into a single article, keep the medical usage here (with a dab link at the top), and move the optical component to Window (optics).--Srleffler (talk) 06:41, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
