Meaning of Oquirrh[edit]

The article says Oquirrh means "wooded mountain," then says it means "shining mountain." I can find a citation for the first meaning, which I've added, but not for the second (except on some LDS temple sites, which I don't consider authoritative. If someone else has better knowledge and references on the Ute language, feel free to change. 11 Arlington (talk) 00:32, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing in this article mentions the various peaks that contain radio and TV towers in the Oquirrhs.

This includes, but is not limited to, Farnsworth Peak, Little Farnsworth Peak, and Nelson Peak. The TV towers for all of Salt Lake City's stations are up on these peaks, most notably, KSL, KTVX, KSTU, and KUTV. Why isn't this included in the article, since these towers can be seen from all over the valley.

Almost all of Salt Lake's FM signals come from peaks in the Oquirrhs too.Milonica (talk) 04:51, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
