[edit] The "History of" section needs links!

Please add some relevant links to the history section.

Links can be found in the "History of" article for this subject, in the "History of" category for this subject, or in the corresponding navigation templates. Or you could search for topics on Google - most topics turn blue when added to Wikipedia as internal links.

[edit] Original research

I have tagged this article/list as containing original research. I have done this because the list of genres is non-trivial and the choice of division according to genre (as well as what the main genres might be) needs some kind of sourcing; in fact the genre divisions in this list do not actually represent the typical classifications most commonly applied in scholarly writing about English literature.

I could fix this myself were it not for the fact that any choice of classificatory scheme would be original research.

It seems this is just a list, for an overview topic that would be better served by a real article, with prose, or by categorization. Perhaps we send this to AfD? carl bunderson (talk) (contributions) 20:59, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Straw poll and discussion concerning what outlines should be called

A discussion is underway that may affect the name of this article.

See: Wikipedia talk:Outlines#Should articles named "Outline of x" be renamed to "List of x topics"?
