Third Location[edit]

There is a third location in Stanley. It's a little more limited than the other two, but it's still a Taste, nonetheless. Jon914 04:45, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion[edit]

As I've discussed in the main HK cuisine article, we should consider expanding upon these articles (give Taste its own article for one thing), so people have a better idea of what these supermarkets are about, particularly people like me who are overseas and only have 99 Ranch as a reference. When I visited HK just last month, I was unduly impressed with Taste and C!tysuper, and it shattered my notion of what a Chinese Supermarket could be. Things are still fresh on my mind, so I'll propose what I have in mind and go from there. Jon914 04:45, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Parknshop.gif[edit]

Image:Parknshop.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Requested move[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Page moved to ParknShop. While there is consensus that the current title is unacceptable, several suggestions have been made for the new title. I chose the one that is most frequently mentioned in the discussion here and in the sources cab cited. Ucucha 11:41, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PARKnSHOPParknShop — or Park N Shop, or some variant. Per WP:TRADEMARK: "avoid: REALTOR®, TIME, KISS; instead, use: Realtor, Time, Kiss". Local newspapers never spell it in the all-caps form either (see below for detailed analysis). cab (talk) 03:58, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Here's how local English-language papers handle this:
  • The Standard primarily "ParknShop", [1], occasionally "Park N Shop", "Park 'n Shop", "Park'n Shop" [2]
  • RTHK: primarily "ParknShop", [3], most usages of "Park N Shop" etc. are in the comments section and not in actual articles [4]
  • South China Morning Post: Google doesn't work very well on their site due to paywalling. ParknShop gets 17 GHits [5] or 64 using their internal search engine. Only one ghit for "Park N Shop" [6], can't really tell using their internal search engine because it doesn't seem to support searching by phrases.
