Isn't it a bit premature to refer to this legislation as an "act", even if the text of the bill does so? So far as I know, this is not a slam-dunk just yet. Lamarr is up for reelection; if he isn't returned to the House this bill might take years to to pass or even be voted down. Not to be a semanticist about the act/bill distinction, but giving people the impression that these changes to U.S. patent law have already taken place or are inevitable is misleading. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.228.113.56 (talkcontribs)

Need more info on the status of the Act[edit]

I agree, this article is helpful in describing the act, but it doesn't give a clear indication of where the act is in the process of legislation, ie what the reaction has been, what's been voted on, and when it is expected to become law.
