Article moved[edit]

This article has been moved as, until Denmark creates a Social Security Administration, the title is totally inappropriate. The translation personal identification number has been taken off Det Centrale Personregisters English homepage. I am going to assume that it is the official one. I have decided upon using the Civil Registration System to translate Det Centrale Personregister, also per the English website. This second translation I am not as certain about.

Also, I have removed all links to the original article, Social_Security_number_(Denmark) from Wikipedia, so, if you could, please delete that page. Thank you. --Adamrush 20:30, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the change in title, but I'm afraid you will have to revert your move of the text and go to the Requested moves page to ask to have the article moved to this title (this wouldn't have been necessary if you had just used the "move" button to move the article in the first place). A cut-and-paste move destroys the history of an article and is not allowed according to the GFDL. Uppland 07:30, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The page has now been moved properly. More discussion about the move is at the old Talk page, Talk:Social Security number (Denmark). Eugene van der Pijll 22:32, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Folk-register"[edit]

This term is a horrible maltranslation of folkeregister. Would anybody complain if I changed it to civil register? Henning Makholm 17:20, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I completely agree, however I am not quite sure that "civil register" conveys the same meaning as the danish "folkeregister", as IMHO it is closer to "peoples registration agency" or something like that. It is in function a bit like the american census buraeu. As per [1] an official translation seems to be "registration office". What to do? ZXmaster 20 june 2007
