The header name of this page needs to change to "Pivotal Software, Inc." "GoPivotal" is the name of their website, but not the company. I don't know how to change the header name, however. Greggie1999 (talk) 23:55, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect of Pivotal Labs[edit]

The Pivotal Labs article has been redirected here. I don't see anything worth merging: version of Pivotal Labs prior to redirect. It consists of uncited and / or promo material. A straight redirect is preferable, IMO. But I'm happy to hear other opinions. K.e.coffman (talk) 01:51, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Don't agree, it has several citations. Andrevan@ 02:19, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The citations are routine notices, industry / VC-oriented press, and the org's website:

  • "EMC Acquires Pivotal Labs". EMC. Retrieved 2012-03-12.
  • Swisher, Kara. "In a Big Mobile Move, Pivotal Buys Xtreme Labs for $65 Million in Cash". AllThingsD.com. Retrieved 2014-06-11.
  • "Inside Pivotal Labs, the Agile Force Behind Twitter and Groupon". GigaOM. Retrieved 2010-10-07.
  • "Pivotal Labs Customers".

However, I'm not opposed to additions; I just don't think it's essential. K.e.coffman (talk) 02:49, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree as well — the company was independently notable in 2009 prior to all the M&A action around Dell EMC, I don't see why it's suddenly not notable anymore. I completely disagree with simply removing the article without doing any actual merging.MureninC (talk) 21:20, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Undisclosed payments tag?[edit]

SamHolt6, could you provide some context on why you added the undisclosed paid editing tag to this article? Drive-by tagging without an explanation to help people resolve the problem is not particularly helpful. Could you expand a bit? Thank you! (Disclosure: I work for Pivotal. I was not asked, compelled, compensated, etc. by anyone to look at or change this article, I was just curious about the article on my employer.) --Deskana (talk) 12:24, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Deskana: hi. I placed a UDP template as I feel the article could use some cleanup, and due to the credible suspicion (on the basis of three editor usernames, including the creator's pre-change request name, which is fairly unambiguous) that the article was created/maintained with undisclosed paid edits. The article has been re-written since its date of creation (it was notably scaled back just over a month ago), but I feel information like the citing of Pivotal's first day stock performance could be omitted. I will note that if another editor disagrees with my placement of the template, I will have not major qualms if they remove it. SamHolt6 (talk) 22:59, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I've removed the tag. The article seems like it's in a good state and I don't think it's helpful having the tag at the top when the article complies with policy and there's not really any action to take. --Deskana (talk) 09:43, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
