A slight doubt.[edit]

From the Sin Gwang-su page:

Sin Gwang-su (1712–1775) was a poet of the late Joseon Dynasty. Living in the time of King Yeongjo, he was unable to attain a position of rank because his family was aligned with the Southerners faction. He married the daughter of Yun Duseo and became associated with Silhak.

From the link given in the present article page, we could infer that Princess Hwahyeop was in fact an hidden daughter of Yun Duseo. Should we ? Pldx1 (talk) 14:51, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There is absolutely no doubt of Princess's Hwahyeop's birth credentials. The poet Sin Gwang-su is a completely different person as Princess Hwayeop's husband. The confusion occurs as both of them have the same romanization of their Korean names. However, they have different Chinese characters. The poet's name is 申光洙 but Princess Hwahyeop's husband's name is 申光绥. They are from the same Pyongsan Sin Clan and belonged to the same generation according to the clan genealogy. Both of their names appeared in the genealogy and their generation is indicated by the second character "光" in their names. Moreover, their birth dates varies by almost 40 years. It is impossible that they are the same person. Even the Korean Wikipedia committed this mistake. I have removed the link to the poet. Milugu (talk) 15:43, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Translation Matters[edit]

The English translations of eulogies and references are my own personal work and may not be completely accurate due to my inadequate mastery of Classical Chinese. I have translated the Chinese text for the Sillok and marked them in parenthesis for easy reference for those who do not read Chinese. All eulogies are my original translations with interpretations explained in the references marked with "Translator's note". I have tried my best to be as meticulous as possible but if you find anything dubious, please point it out here or on my user page. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
