Talk:Pulmonary gas pressures
|WikiProject Medicine||(Rated Start-class, Low-importance)|
Ok people, Inspired partial pressure redirects here so I would hope you would have something about the required minimums and maximums for Oxygen and Nitrogen and Argon for normal breathing, the upper and lower limits, limits for not dying and limits for even remaining conscious. I came looking for this, and I need to know this and I couldn't find it. 22.214.171.124 (talk) 03:21, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
Human Limits for Inspired Partial Pressures of Gases
(Dole pp. 15-16)
Airless < .001 Atm
Unbreathably thin atmosphere < .095 Atm (72 mm Hg)
Thin atmosphere < 0.5 Atm
Normal atmosphere .5 - 2 Atm
Thick atmosphere 2.0 Atm >
Unbreathably thick atmosphere > 8 Atm
"One millimeter of mercury is approximately 1 Torr, that is, 1/760 of standard atmospheric pressure."
Therefore, 760 mmHg is one of the middle numbers I came looking for. 126.96.36.199 (talk) 03:30, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
