More Info[edit]

I was doing a biology project and came upon more information about Pyrococcus furiosus at this site I hope this will help! Helixer (talk) 20:23, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Respiratory system[edit]

Sapra et al. (2003) describe ATP synthase in P. furiosus as proton-coupled. However, Pisa et al. (2007) [1] identify the single P. furiosus ATP synthase as being sodium-ion-dependent, although they do note that it "can transport protons". Can someone more familiar with the current literature reconcile these premises? Choess (talk) 05:39, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Binomial name[edit]

I'm not understanding why under the binomial name it is written "Erauso et al 1993", when this species was described and given the name Pyrococcus furiosus by Fiala and Stetter in 1986, in the first article that's in the bibliography. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pyroph (talkcontribs) 00:43, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, it's fixed now. - Kat Epicfroggz (talk) 02:12, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
