[edit] Jenny Craig Discrepancy
The Wikipedia entry for Jenny Craig states that Queen Latifah has been a celebrity endorser for their programs since January 2008. This article states January 2009. The conflicting entries need verification and synchronization. 98.192.24.96 (talk) 02:28, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Got Talent?
Sorry folks. I just don't see why this person merits all this attention. "Queen", indeed.
-
- Those who have awarded this artist, or nominated her for awards, for her achievements in the field seem to feel differently and I would say that this qualifies the artist as noteable, and worthy of an article on Wikipedia. This page is not a forum for your opinion on her talent. Caliban93 (talk) 19:31, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Women of colour?
"She has developed her own line of cosmetics for women of color called the Covergirl Queen Collection" Come on, honestly, cant this be something different, like... black people?
-
- "Of color" is inclusive of more ethnicities than those of African descent. Latinas, Native Americans, Indians (as in Asia) etc. are all "women of color", who might find cosmetics developed for caucasian complexions less than satisfactory. Let it stand as written. Caliban93 (talk) 19:24, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
"People of color" is a stupid term. It's not very different than "colored" from the 19th century. I thought we were moving forward. Electricbassguy (talk) 11:37, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Personal Life
Why is the statement "It has later been stated that Latifah was dating her female trainer, Jeanette Jenkins." listed here? In bold letters none the less? Did Queen Latifah state this herself? Until she comes out of the closet, I think statements like this should be removed...
Has Queen Latifah ever got married...or any children????
- I removed the following statement: "confirming the rumors that they were true", from the personal life section. The quote that follows does not confirm her sexuality. kc12286 00:51, 28 April 2007 (UTC)kc12286
-
- The media is reporting that it IS 100% confirmed she is a lesbian, and with California's legalization of gay marriage she will be marrying her personal trainer. Ellen DeGeneres will also be marrying. Cleric2145 (talk) 14:04, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

-
- Latifah's private life has remained off limits, despite continuous claims she is dating her female personal trainer Jeanette Jenkin,[1] Her plans to adopt seem verifiable

- I think it's important that we not speculate on someone's very private life. There is no evidence that she is part of the homosexual lifestyle and in fact many have used that slur in order to undermine her work. We would not be discussing the intimate affairs of any other artist, so we need to show her some respect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.74.75.30 (talk) 04:18, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Rather than speculate about personal relationships which cannot be documented by reliable sources, perhaps the focus of this section should be upon the artist's noteable aversion to making her private life public, which is verifiable? Caliban93 (talk) 19:35, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
- Let the sources lead us ... -- Banjeboi 04:50, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Racism
Someone has just posted many racist comments about Queen Latifah. Any atempts to delete the page deletes the real page(I have tried). The adress is http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Queen_Latifah&oldid=138114429http —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.249.214.143 (talk) 17:08, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Hairspray
The summer of 2007 brought Latifah triple success in the big-screen version of the Broadway smash hit Hairspray, in which she acted, sang, and danced. The film rated highly with critics. It starred, among others, John Travolta (Grease), Michelle Pfeiffer (Stardust), Allison Janney (Juno), James Marsden (Enchanted) and Christopher Walken (Catch Me If You Can).
I doubt any of these people need extra credits by their name to indicate who they are (and the decisions made to illustrate a film associated with them is... bizarre). Anyone who desires to know who the actor is can simply click on their names. 12.162.122.6 (talk) 19:13, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
