Lots of good material here, but needs trimming. Much could move to appropriate Squadron articles. Not sure about some of the anecdotes recounted, interesting as they are - do they belong in an encyclopedia? Sc147 20:07, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Life on the station was always hectic and 103 Sqn had a set programme for the year, which included Bombing, Air Gunnery, Reconnaissance, Photography, Formation Flying, Night Flying and Instrument-Navigation Exercises. During this time the squadron went to a practice camp for 3 weeks for concentrated bombing and Air Firing at Catfoss and Bridlington. It was involved in the "Centurion" bombing trials with No. 15, 40 & 101 squadrons, 101 had Overstrands, the first turreted aircraft in the RAF, for these trials we were at Tangmere for 3 weeks where 103 was employed to photograph the bombing results on the radio controlled World War One battleship HMS Centurion.
