Albemuth[edit]

"A star system with a name out of our own devising; I knew the star's name. It was Albemuth. "Albemuth" (Arabic: "al-Behemoth", which PKD interpreted to mean "the whale", note the PKD fish symbolism) allegedly refers to the star Fomalhaut, which was found to have a planet in the 2000s. It was the first exoplanet to be directly observed in visible light, and is about the size of Jupiter. PKD also talks about this in The Unteleported Man (1966), where colonists travel to a planet in the Fomalhaut system known as "Whale's Mouth". Viriditas (talk) 13:20, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
