The initial description of Rajputs being a pastoral class is wrong. Rajputs are those whose profession was soldiering and aristocracy.
Also, the complete Wikipedia page is written from the Rajsthan Rajput keeping in centre. But in reality Rajputs are present in greater number in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat,Madhya Pradesh,Bihar etc.
This page mostly covers those historians point of view who have always downplayed the history of Rajputs.
Also, marriages of some Rajput princess with Mughals cannot be termed as an alliance when most of the Rajputs were fighting Mughals. The decision of marriages are purely personal and should not be termed as an alliance.
Please remove the shortcomings in the article and present a correct picture from Indian point of view.
This complete article is from western scholars point of view. 2409:40D5:5A:7F1B:B16D:653A:593A:2406 (talk) 09:40, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

The way this article has been presented has reduced the Rajput community to a loyal servant of Mughals. It has only included the views of scholars whose opinions are anti-Rajputs. Please remove the opinion of Steward Gordan opinion the "Origin" section of this article.
An article on Wikipedia cannot and should not publish the negative portrayal of a community. This article seems to publish all the negativities of Rajputs instead of portraying in unbiased manner. Following are recommended to be deleted and added in this article:- 1) Please mention about the views of Gaurishankar Hirashankar Ojha, the famous historian of Rajasthan on Rajputs. 2) Remove the views of Steward Gordan in the "Origin section" of this article. 3)The controversial segment like Rajput -Mughal alliance should be removed from this article. As marriage between a Rajput princess and a Mughal emperor was a personal choice of the kings in those times. Personal choice of marriage cannot be called an alliance. 4) Sati:- When in the article itself it is mentioned that other communities ladies also committed Sati then what is the need of portraying it as a Rajput practice alone. 5) In the Bridewealth section under Rajput Culture:- It mentions about the female infanticide. When it is clearly known through various studies that nearly all communities practiced female infanticide then what is the need to portray it as Rajput culture.
In the same section again,it mention about Rajput princess marriage with Mughals.Firstof all this stanza is out of place in this section and it clearly shows that the author of this article has biased views against Rajputs. Please remove this mention from this section.
6) Polygamy:- polygamy of Rajput kings cannot be portrayed as Rajput culture or part of Rajput tradition in any sense. Again the author has shown his/her biasness.
7) Also, One off event like capture of women by Jaipur state during their attack on Jodhpur cannot be presented as their culture.
8) The negative mention of Gola/Daroga community should be removed.
9) Opium Usage:- Again the author has gone out of touch of reality to show opium consumption as a Rajput vice alone.People of other caste consumed opium/liquor on a larger scale but again the author has professed it to be a Rajput culture. Please remove these negative mentions of Rajputs in this article.
The complete article is written from Rajasthan point of view which is totally absurd.Rajputs are found in other parts of India in greater number. This article instead of writing about Rajputs, has only written about their voices. 2409:40D5:5A:7F1B:B16D:653A:593A:2406 (talk) 10:58, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

Make following addition to this article:- 1) Add origin of Rathore clan of Rajputs from Rashtrakutas of Karnataka who ruled over a vast area during early mediaeval times. Variations of Rashtrakutas like, Ratta,Rattakut are mentioned in the inscriptions of Ashok.
2) Al Masudi came to India with Mohammad Ghazni in 10th century. He described the area ruled by Hindu Shahi dynasty of Afghanistan as "Rajput".
Included this reference in the origin section.
3) Emperor Harshvardhan called himself Rajputra. Please include this in the origin section.
4) Most of the opinions of the historians added are Marxist with biased view against Rajputs and hence cannot be trusted. So,their references should be removed.
These historians have ulterior motive. Abhimanyu200 (talk) 20:34, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
