Which YMs?[edit]

It would be good to know which Yearly Meetings continue the practice of recording Ministers. Vernon White . . . Talk 22:12, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Which YMs? (more)[edit]

I haven't found a single unified list. In some yearly meetings, recording is done by the monthly meeting and the yearly meeting has no decisive role. In others, such as Indiana (where I was recorded) and Northwest (to which my recording was transferred), the act of recording is a yearly meeting decision.

I would suppose that all yearly meetings belonging only to Friends United Meeting (not also to Friends General Conference) and most if not all yearly meetings belonging to Evangelical Friends Church International have provisions for recording ministers, but I have not done a thorough survey of all of their books of discipline.

For a general treatment, I appreciated the articles on "minister" and "recorded minister" in the Historical Dictionary of the Friends (Quakers), sampled here: [1] --johanpdx (talk) 19:11, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
