Original Content[edit]

While looking to add citations I found the Fandom page, which was essentially copied for the Story section. New to editing, so not sure if this requires a full re-write or omission. Assistance would be appreciated.

Not required. Fandom copied this Wikipedia article without attribution. See analysis in the section below "CV-Revdel". -- Whpq (talk) 03:02, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent detective work there. Thank you for the reply. SnosajSE (talk) 13:34, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

CV-Revdel[edit]

The copyvio is so embedded in multiple revisions of the ext that I unable to unwind it. I have flagged the articles needing the attention of an expert. I found https://www.booksie.com/514453-only-about-anime-chapter-24 as the major source. AB=bove, https://wmt.fandom.com/wiki/Remy,_Nobody%27s_Girl is stated to be a source 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 06:29, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Timtrent you might just have to be brutal and gut the article of the copied content and whatever else needs to go to make it read sensibly. Nthep (talk) 20:36, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Nthep I had little time earlier. I have gutted the article. I am considering offering it for deletion after I have slept on it. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 21:28, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Nthep The more I examine it the less I can see that it belongs here in this form. What I think is required is a rewrite from the ground up, based around references. That renders the revdel highly valid. It appears written from a fan's perspective. It still warrants sleeping on. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 21:35, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Grrr. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Remi,_Nobody%27s_Girl&oldid=1168912740 shows the removal of the final piece of copyvio. Missed that before. Mea culpa. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 21:40, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have found a valid historic version to restore to. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:06, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have declined the revdel request as this is a case of reverse copyvio. The sites mentioned above have copied Wikipedia without attribution. The Booksie site allows anybody to post their writing. The source noted is marked "Submitted: August 31, 2017. Looking in the article history, this version of our article from August 11, 2017 already has the text so the Booksie article is the copy. With respect to Fandom, looking at the Fandom article's history shows it was created on November 8, 2019. Our article from November 6, 2019 already has that material.
I am not going to restore to the version prior to the removal of material as it looks like the plot / story needs work anyways, so I leave that decision to editors familiar with the topic. -- Whpq (talk) 02:53, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
