Genre[edit]

Its an A-RPG, so be more precise in Description

With little emphasis on RPG, it's painfully linear and character customization is extremely limited. JamesR87 (talk) 15:51, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wife or Fiancee?[edit]

In the literature I have read, it states that Jason's fiancee is killed. The language in the beginning of this article is confusing. It mentions that Jason's wife is dead. Then a couple of sentences later it says her body is placed where they were supposed to marry? Can we verify if she is his wife or fiancee? Smreece (talk) 19:56, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

She's his Fiancee in the game, they make the point that they were never married very clearly throughout. JamesR87 (talk) 15:46, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Characters[edit]

Removed Hector, Odysseus, King Leonidas from the characters section, since they haven't been mentioned in any official articles recently. There is a King 'Lycomedes' mentioned in a couple of previews, but he sounds like a different character entirely.

I agree to this decision. I have played through a large part of the game, and these characters have yet to be encountered. It is at least safe to say that they do not play any major part. Snikburz (talk) 14:34, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There are more characters than these mentioned that you should add:

Argos – The ancient ship builder himself, designer, builder and pilot of the Argo.

Daedelus – The same Daedelus whose son Icarus flew too high and fell to his death when the pair escaped Crete using wings Daedelus built. He is a technical genius and creates a few pieces of armor and weapons for Jason.

Medea – A former Blacktongue, Medea joins Jason to destroy the remaining Blacktongues and defeat the Titaness Hecate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.19.68.67 (talk) 03:58, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cover[edit]

This game has a new box art, it should be changed and some in game screenshot should be added as well .Some description of the game play mechanic also could be explained.

Rewrites the Story of the Argonauts[edit]

It feels like my duty as an amateur classicist to recommend that somewhere in this article we mention that the game has a great many number of differences when compared to the actual story of the Golden Fleece.

Perhaps the most obvious problem is the premise for the whole expedition but this is just a single note in a catalog of problems. Would anybody have any objections to a note or perhaps a list of the more note-worthy changes? JamesR87 (talk) 15:59, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was surprised there's not already a section about it - that seems like exactly the sort of think Wikipedia's good at. 65.190.245.88 (talk) 19:56, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion Pack/Additional Content[edit]

It has been discovered that the code for the game contains "preliminaries" for an expansion, mentioning an additional island to travel to with additional quests and possibly more equipment. The possibly scrapped expansion would deal with the native home of the satyrs. This is just an interesting detail and I don't know if this would ever come to fruition, but evidence suggests it was planned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.151.73.166 (talk) 16:15, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It was planned. It's just not an expansion pack - if you look through the dialogue files, there's tons of ideas and characters that didn't make it to the final cut. Pan originally being found on Kythra, an entire alternate story for Saria, a sidequest on Mycenae about a locket found in Thankallos' cell, Orion being the assassin sent by Hecate to kill Alceme in her crib, crossing the River Styx, fighting a gryphon at Alexandria, and so on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.246.138.167 (talk) 02:33, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for correcting. Unfortunate as this might have fleshed out the game so it wasn't so short. My assumption was it was for an expansion because years ago many details of the Diablo II expansion pack were discovered in a similar fashion before it was released. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.151.98.238 (talk) 20:41, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I agree that they should have kept in some (if not most or all) of the things we lost, but if I remember correctly, they wanted to keep the game short. I also remember them saying, in the "Gods and Humans" video, that as the game evolved and the brand evolved, the gods only mentioned here and there in RotA would become more important. Shame that they rushed it to get it out for the holidays - doesn't look like any sequel is going to happen. I don't think I've enjoyed a game as much as this one. But yes, your conclusion makes sense.
