CLEANUP[edit]

See Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Style guidelines. Cbrown1023 19:34, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dates or dating?[edit]

  • "heavily edited" is a rare discreption of manupulating proves for criminal interests. If a disc is overwritten and shows wrong images the crime fact in a thriller construction has to be revealed.

Plotting in pretenders speech can't be WIKIS perspective! Change the words in a crime story telling one!--Danaide (talk) 14:12, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not quite clear on who really was the murderer[edit]

  • The ending leaves it a bit open if the guy accused of being the murderer at the end of the film really was the murderer. He ends up dead pretty quick, being thrown into cement by what looks to be Eddies Yakuza friends. Ranma (talk) 23:19, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

dispute Crichton <-> Kaufman[edit]

I read Michael Crichton (and Michael Backes?) quit the project over disagreement with director Philip Kaufman. In which phase of the project and why exactly? And why is he still credited as writer for the screenplay? Was his writing finished or .... I have no clue. And no answers in Wikipedia :-( --93.133.242.175 (talk) 14:28, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Buried alive in wet concrete[edit]

There is no proof that the murderer is buried alive. His screams can be heard from afar before Connor and Smith reach the concrete foundation, were the murderer sinks in silent and with eyes closed. So we can's actually say for sure if he's alive or not, and the film gives no further indication on the matter. I edited out the "alive". Matzeachmann (talk) 10:56, 17 Feb 2013 (UTC)

If you want the answer, perhaps it is in the book. PotatoEater (talk) 23:54, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Totally wrong for Sean Connery[edit]

[Enter PPOV rant mode] Sean Connery can credbily play a Russian submarine captain, he can play James Bond, but the one thing that Sean Connery can *never* play, is an American. Any American actor, no matter how hopeless, would have been better than him in this role. If you read the book you would see how essential this is. Total revenue[edit]

I never understood why movies on wikipedia show the total amount of revenu with an accuracy of 1 dollar. This movie is still being shown on (dutch) television as of 2017, quarter century after production. Revenues are still coming in. PotatoEater (talk) 00:09, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That's called the ancillary market. We don't track that in the infobox, which is generally for the theatrical release only. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 06:26, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Question about cast[edit]

Who is playing the fun girl with the bath robe, trying to seduce the cob? PotatoEater (talk) 00:11, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a good reason there is no mention of the protests in 1993 over the film claiming it was racist towards Japanese?[edit]

When the film was released in 1993, it grand some protests from Japanese-Americans at the time (see articles below):

Unless there is a good argument not to include a mention of the protests over the film at the time, then at least some mention of it should be added to the article. --Notcharliechaplin (talk) 17:37, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notcharliechaplin, a quick look at the page history shows that the article has always been this small. It simply has not gotten attention beyond the mere basics. I would be fine with summarizing the above coverage but recommend a better section heading than just "Controversy". Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 18:03, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
We don't really have any reception at all. You could write up a reception section and add this to it. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 02:57, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
