ARTICLE UNDER CONSTRUCTION

There are a group of us working together to develop some interrelated pages regarding the evolution of sailboat manufacturing. Please be patient with our progress.

This is meant to be the core summary article with cursory details at the manufacturers article, and the deepest detail at individual pages for the boat models.

This when completed could be a real coup for Wikipedia, as it would be the most detailed and organized history of sailboats on several levels. With the excellent placement which Wikipedia gets in search engines, and the tremendous worldwide interest in sailing this could be a strong draw of new readers for our collective effort. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kevin Murray (talkcontribs) 18:36, 21 October 2006

Article Development & Conceptualization[edit]

Kudos for an excellent beginning to this article. My thought is that this feels as if it could be a subset of the sailing article. But upon looking at that article the concern would be that it would be too lengthy for a regular article.

I have no particular experience with this, but perhaps we should consider developing sailing as a wikiproject or a wp:portal, where manufacturing & design could be a subset of the expanded sailing article.Bradfordschultze 01:16, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sailing re-organization effort[edit]

Take a minute to read the comments at Talk:Sailing#Re-write effort -- non how-to et seq. Some of us are working on re-organizing the sailing-related articles. See if you agree with our approach and give us some help. Mrees1997 20:52, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

inappropriate[edit]

This article compiles disparate subjects on sailing (history, modern sport, design) to draw original conclusions. This is wholly original research. 99.60.49.239 (talk) 09:33, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
