[edit] Philosophical openness
The notion which the article presents in the opening lines (per 20th of November 2009 GXIII), with the wording: when mankind is governed by gods, makes an allusion to the contemporary use of the concept 'government'; in addition to any presumed state of governing of humankind in the indefinite pasttime. The lack of the future sense potential indicates that the 'model author' of the article (a label of our wikiconcensus, as opposed to each individual empirical author) are ignorant of a cyclic conception of time. Thus, in order for the article to improve this notion, we need to create a notion of a future time as much. The whole idea of the vedic philosophy regarding time is cycling, I dare say, a cycle with many wheels (chakras). The way mankind is governed by gods, in respect of the philosophy, is due to the notion of the perfection in incarnating the heavenly ideas, aspects of divinity. In tantric philosophy reincarnation may be regarded as a tantra (let say an art of zen). Humankind is thus not governed in any repressed sense, but completely one with the divine, astral, situation. It is complete Svaraj, conferring the self-rule-concept Mahatma Gandhi used in regard of Satya Graha, the philosophical basis of the entire peace movement. When taking the starting point of understanding Time as an illusion, although relatively true, Kali Yuga and Satya Yuga may be looked upon as the difference between the states of being within the illusion of time, and being without any illusion of time (cf. apocalypso meaning that everything is uncovered]]. Kali Yuga refers to the state of being in a time of collective darkness. in contrast to Satya Yuga, an imagined time where the fog has cleared, and each others access to each and everyones seeds of truth are not hindered, thus paraphrasing Mahatma Gandhi referring to an era of true enlightenment, as a very present possibility. Kali and Satya is like night and day. The other two Yugas are likened with dusk and dawn, vesper and matin. The relative future understood as from now until death, and the past in which we put our births until now'. It is important to make clear that these conceptions of time are philosophical and regarding the art of history and future adventures, rather than being fixed to any assumed historicity--95.34.124.8 (talk) 17:21, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Lifespan
i have the following sources for my lifespans:
[edit] Move?
I believe this should be moved to Krita Yuga or Kruta yuga as the term "Satya yuga" is more of a recent origin and employed more to indicate the yuga that would be dawning next after the current Kaliyuga. --Gurubrahma 11:03, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- Agree for a redirect. --rgds. Miljoshi | talk 11:06, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- Agree I also agree, don't have an account for some reason... but Alan Watts also agrees.
[edit] Should This reference be here?
I dont know what is revelance of putting this entry of " Ayyavazhi mythology". There are other cults in hinduism which have their own interpretation of Puranic Yugas. Lokesh 2000 05:22, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The Time for the New Yuga
I think that this page should include as a short point an estimate of when the next Satya Yuga is to be expected.--Lighthead 01:52, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Infobox
Why is the infobox "Concepts of Heaven" under this article? The one is not related to the other in any way as far as i see. --Trickstar (talk) 00:08, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Inconsistencies
First paragraph: "The average lifespan in the satya yuga is 100,000 years".
Paragraph "The Satya Yuga according to some holy texts": "The average life expectancy of a human being in Satya Yuga is believed to be over 400 years".
Same paragraph, later: "The average life expectancy of a human being in Satya yuga was approximately 4000 years."
I think this info should be checked, because such inconsistencies will lower the credibility of Wikipedia.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bdaniel7 (talk • contribs) 15:16, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Note that I am not involved in this project any much more than any other editor, just posting these notes since it is quite a big change, potentially

Not done for now: I'd suggest you to discuss the topic of inclusion of this image and gain consensus among other editors. Regards, — Abhishek Talk 12:36, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
the life span of individuals mentioned varies in several places, the language used is "old" and it reads badly but conveys its intent. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.4.64.132 (talk) 18:46, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
