B12 difiency means Megaloblastic anemia which means there is an increase in MCV level (mean corpuscular volume) and not preniecius anemia as written because the laster one is caused be Fe (iron) difieciency!
- Pernicious anemia is an autoimmune disease where the body attacks the parietal cells that secrete intrinsic factor. Without intrinsic factor, B-12 cannot be absorbed, thus leading to megaloblastic anemia. (D.c.camero (talk) 04:14, 10 October 2008 (UTC))
