Trivia issue[edit]

  • A controversy ensued around the Imus in the Morning program in April 2007 when show producer Bernard McGuirk phrased the 2007 NCAA championship game as "Jigaboos vs Wannabes" in a reference to School Daze, which news reader Charles McCord accidentally referred to as Do the Right Thing.

The Don Imus page includes a transcript of his show (the one involving the "nappy head hos" comment). That includes "nappy-headed hos", "Spike Lee", and "Jigaboos vs. the Wannabes". They then incorrectly attributed that to Do the Right Thing. The seem to have been referring to this movie specifically. DocGratis 13:27, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Did anyone notable criticize this movie...[edit]

for promoting the use of racial slurs? After all, if it wasn't for Spike Lee and this film, there would have been no Don Imus Rutgers Women's Basketball controversy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.29.155.152 (talk) 17:33, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
