[edit] Problem with the Map
The map depicts the seven islands in yellow however there are also islands like naxos in the yello colour. I suggest the map to be removed untill we have something better.
- The map at right (Image:Ionian Islands.svg|thumb|275px|The Ionian Islands), which occurs in the article Ionian islands shows only the 7 islands, but has the disadvantage of showing modern boundaries, rather than the contemporary Ottoman boundaries of the existing map.
- It does not seem that the yellow coloring of the Aegean Islands on the extant historical map accurately signifies anything, as the other articles on Greek history imply (although do not explicitly state) that these Aegean Islands were firmly under the control of the Ottoman Empire during the existence of the Septinsular Republic, although Naxos -- according to its article -- appears to have revolted successfully in 1821. jchristopher 04:18, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
