The result of the move request was: move the page, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 17:55, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Serotonin N-acetyltransferaseAralkylamine N-acetyltransferase – The accepted enzyme nomenclature is Aralkylamine N-acetyltransferase, and SNAT is regarded only as one of the several alternative names. Nomenclature authority explicitly says (e.g. ExPaSy, and Nomenclature Committee of the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology that it is so. Some people, apparently ignorant of chemistry, back in 2012 moved the page to SNAT, but they were gravely mistaken in thinking that recommended (their argument for their action) means a valid name, in any scientific nomenclature, accepted is the only valid one. – Chhandama (talk) 11:12, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Best get it discussed. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 16:24, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Chhandama has a point, since every major database we link to uses "Aralkylamine N-acetyltransferase" as the primary enzyme name; serotonin also isn't the only substrate in humans. I don't see this as being a controversial move. Seppi333 (Insert  | Maintained) 15:05, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
