I have assigned an initial rating of 'Start' to this article. I thought about giving it a "B" but I would like to see more topics discussed, such as arts and culture. Refer to Wikipedia:WikiProject Canadian communities for guidance. PKT (talk) 15:52, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

The result of the proposal was move. Mindmatrix 13:48, 14 July 2008 (UTC) Rename: Shawinigan, QuebecShawinigan

Per WP:CANSTYLE and WP:PRIMARYUSAGE, this city should have an article at the undisambiguated name (see also WP:CANCITY). An internet search which excludes various combinations of this city's name still produces results exclusively related to it. There is a disambiguation page for the term "Shawinigan", two entries of which point to this article, and the third which links to Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia, which is spelled differently, and further is not distinctly named Shawinigan.
