Filmography[edit]

There is some discrepancy in agreement in how Imamura's films should be categorized, whether the films of his own should be integrated with his "session work", i.e. films he contributed to as writer, etc. but were not his. Does anyone feel strongly about this? SweetTaylorJames (talk) 19:09, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think that mere three films should be moved to a separate list. Also, naming these subsections "films" and "other works" (which would associate e.g. books or other) is simply not correct. "Films as director" and "films as writer/producer only" would have been more appropriate, but again, I don't think a number of three justifies a split of the filmography, also regarding the fact that Imamura served as producer and writer on almost all of his films. Addendum: What I think DOES make sense is separating the television work which adds up to a half dozen. Also, the regular filmography layout has the year of release listed first. Robert Kerber (talk) 09:24, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I do think it's necessary even with three to distinguish between his own films and other people's films that he contributed work toward, so my vote remains, but I'll submit to the community vote on it. Also I wouldn't move films he made that were distributed by television to another section unless they were series, but again I'll submit to the vote.
