This article's role[edit]

This article deals with the council for the new unitary authority of Shropshire, in a similar way to Manchester City Council or Isle of Wight Council. It is not an article dealing with the geography, population or otherwise covered by the unitary authority. That is entirely contained in the Shropshire article. The ceremonial county and new unitary authority of Shropshire are almost (90% by area) the same thing. An example of a similar situation is the East Riding of Yorkshire. Hey, great work on this article! I will contribute where possible :) Asdfasdf1231234 (talk) 18:04, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I understand this article should use Template:Infobox UK local authority. :) --Jza84 |  Talk  01:07, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't that template rather more suitable for historic local authorities? David (talk) 13:28, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it could work. But ho hum! David (talk) 13:30, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've seen it used for modern and defunct/historical authorities - Greater London Council and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council for example. I think it will be quite effective for this article. The infobox itself could always be upgraded if we felt the need. :) --Jza84 |  Talk  17:07, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
