The Lord's Prayer[edit]

I heard a rumor in approximately 1998 that the reason the Lord's Prayer is said at many A.A. meetings is because Bill W. & Dr. Bob wanted to give Sister Ignatius a gift. Having taken a vow of poverty, she wouldn't accept anything from them. When they were insistent she said they should just say the Lord's Prayer at meetings. That would be sufficient.
