No arrow of causation[edit]

The article says, As sleep time decreased over time from the 1950s to 2000s from about 8.5 hours to 6.5 hours, there has been an increase in the prevalence of obesity from about 10% to about 23%. I personally doubt that there's any connection, and I am skeptical that average sleep time has decreased that much to begin with. The sentence here doesn't claim there's any causation, but a casual reader might see this and think, "Oh, so *that's* what it is!" We can mislead people without lying when we do things like this, and I think the sentence should be left out unless we can follow it up with more information to clarify the connection (if any). Normal Metabolism

The article has a section on Normal Metabolism that appears to be lacking sufficient content to describe the process of normal metabolisms, such as the hormones that regulate our hunger levels (ghrelin and leptin). Sleep affects these two hormone levels and thus, this could be important to discuss with more recent research. XTH987 (talk) 02:46, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
