Painting[edit]

Hey, I think that a section should be added about her love for art and painting. She has mentioned through various outlets that she plans on having artshows. She oil paints and she said one of her inspirations is Basquiat. Dee [03:48, July 2, 2007 71.71.212.15]

The painting section which formerly said "Aside from music, Knowles paints as a hobby: "I think that painting, for me, is such an affirmative expression in that sometimes you don't know what the outcome is gonna be and each stroke and each brush for me is an emotion and, in the end, it comes out as a piece which is the most amazing thing. ... It definitely provides a different outlet."[1]" has been removed due to it being deemed not notable by someone else. Unsourced[edit]

She is currently working with a Private Equity firm to help finance special projects in distribution, promotions and marketing music with Music World Entertainment and Geffen. The Private Equity firm is focusing on buying and selling music licensing rights to the movie industry and consumer products like Coca-Cola, Alcohol beverages and Proctor & Gamble Company products. The music for commercials will be the first deal of its kind for a female R&B singer.

Appearence in Goldmember[edit]

Doesn't seem to be much praise[edit]

Need someone to verify and provide a reliable source for Knowles' birth date. An editor with a history of introducing factual errors has changed the year, and I was unable to verify the fact due to a dead link at the cited source. competition between Solange and Beyonce[edit]

Maybe there is no competition because Solange isn't nowhere near as successful as her sister. Beyonce's least successful studio album is Destiny's Child, the group's first album from 1998, which has sold two times more than Solange's two albums together. Solange Knowles → Solange (singer) – I am surprised that there has not been a move request for this article. My main reasons are per WP:COMMONNAME and WP:MONONYM. From the beginning of her music career, she has been known as only Solange, not Solange Knowles. Looking under all of the music she put out proves my point. True[edit]

Yes they are. That is not the point. The artist has a discography page. For that reason we only list the main albums. Not the singles, compilations, EPs or live albums. It would be duplication. None of Beyoncé's EPs equal an album of it's own, they either serve a promotional purpose or are remix collections. True however is a CD of its own with all new songs and even has singles. And by the way I don't get why True is considered an EP. According to Wikipedia, an EP is a CD with up to four songs or a running time of up to 20 minutes. In both cases, True has more. It is about the sources. Allmusic and others all consider it an EP. And by definition it is. I appreciate that you see it as an important release (and it is). Last name now Ferguson[edit]

As can be seen on the page about Solange's Metatronia exhibit[1], she is using her husband's last name instead of her maiden name as a dance/sculpture artist. (Still mononymous as a musician, I assume, but we'll see soon at her next album release!) Solange appeared on the Tyra Banks show in 2008 and said the whole story of getting diagnosed twice was a joke she said because she felt a reporter was being sarcastic with her during a prior interview. She told Tyra something like, "I say it like this (*puts on straight face*) and they can't tell I'm joking."
