Observation

Obbop says, after a multitude of observations while passing by the several Sonic Drive-ins in the Omaha Nebraska area..... there sure are a lot of obese people eating there. Perhaps the main article needs to mention the high-caloric fare offered by this fast food firm.

If there are more obese people at Sonic than at other fast food places, it's likely releated to the fact that you don't have to get out of your car. There's a certain level of laziness to be accounted for. Still, it's not fast food that causes obesity. Don't confuse cause and effect. Obese people eat fast food, fast food doesn't make obese people. That thing the one reporter did with McDonalds is he became sedentary as well. The exact symptoms he experienced probably would've been experienced by someone who wasn't eating hot food and had turned sedentary. I'm not obese and I eat at both Wendy's and Sonic. Why?

I live in New York and I see Sonic commercials all the time. However, I have yet to actually see one, and I did a search online, and there is only one, single, solitary Sonic Drive-Thru within 150 miles of my house, and it's in some town in PA. What's up with that?

Same issue here in Massachusetts, except that the website search comes up empty within 150 miles of my house. What's even more irritating are the Geicos and Progressives that advertise here when they won't write an insurance policy here. --Tckma 03:05, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

They mean mostly in the south go to oklahoma city and youll see like at least 10 before you arive to where ur staying providing its in oklahoma city and a bit farther in. And as to Obbop: its a fast food restraunt that doesnt say their food is healthy and says its main food are hamburgers and such on the side box of this article I dont mean to offend but if people cannot figure that out their not neccarily stupid but they do need to learn a bit about food.

Dale Earnhardt Sr.

Sonic was one of the sponsors on Dale Earnhardt Sr.'s last car in 2001, someone may want to add that.

• That would likely have a better place on Dale Earnhardt Sr's article than on the Sonic article. Where Sonic puts its logos adds nothing to the Sonic article itself. Television ads aren't random, they're aired on a show by show basis. Clear Error in "Trivia"

The statement that there is no Sonic within 50 miles of Los Angeles County is wrong: there has been one for several years in Anaheim, which, in addition to being only a few miles from the LA County border, is also well within the Los Angeles media market. Border Foods

I have removed the reference to Border Foods. Their website says they are a franchisee of said restaurants (Taco Bell, KFC, etc). They are NOT the parent company of such companies, YUM! Brands is. Thegov2k2 21:31, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

I knew him from his great work with JA and his Secret Santa work with poor children in OKC. He would dress up as Santa every year and give presents donated by the Sonic staff and community to children with no money. He was crucial to their Franchise success and development.

Another Sonic in Washington state

I was watching the news the other day, and was delighted to find out that Sonic is going to be building a restaurant in Kennewick, WA, my home town! I can't wait!

Controversies Section

I work for the franchising company. The information contained in the Controversies section does not comply with the NOR and verifiable policies. The information is also not accurate. Carhop pay practices differ among franchisees and drive-ins, and they cannot be accurately summarized in a few sentences. It is requested that the Controversies section be deleted. Thank you. Advertising--2010

In addition to irrelevant film locations that I suspect are being entered by people who recognize their sonics, I notice this quote is highly irrelevant to Sonic Drive-In.

"Katie Ratkiewicz was cast to be the rollerskating carhop after serving several of the commercial producers at Hyde Park Bar & Grill in Austin who convinced her to audition."

Most of Sonic's material is marked "America's Drive-In Brand Properties LLC", even right there in the Wiki article. Is this a shell company? A tax haven? I have update the founder & first location of Sonic Drive-In. Sonic was founded in Shawnee, Okla. in 1953 by Troy Smith, Sr., not in Illinois and not by Cole Winters. 1960-1970 Section

During the 1960s and 1970s, Sonic had no strict standardized procedures or recipes for their franchisees.[citation needed] Franchisees or franchise groups often developed their own recipes for different menu items or regional specialties. These variations hampered Sonic's growth during this period, which sometimes led to disagreements between franchise groups over menus, pricing, coupons and advertising.[citation needed] As a franchiser, Sonic did not inspect or monitor its franchisees' operations. Customers never knew what to expect in terms of menu, quality or service. Sonic's future growth was in doubt, and by the 1980s the company was losing money.[8] This paragraph is listed as needing citations on several issues. I have not been able to find anything to substantiate the comments marked as such, therefore I am going to remove them. That being said, the one sentence that does have a supporting citation doesn't seem to fit well without the other being substantiated so I am removing it as well.
