Sonic the Hedgehog

Has anyone requested Sega to make this game for the Wii? I, and a good many others, would like to see it on the Wii. Wii-Owner-who-doesn't-own-a-PS3-or-a-360 22:58, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

P.S. Please do not delete this.

Blaze a queen?

Blaze is a princess, not queen.

Yes, I know it's confusing. Sort of like how they made it seem like Shadow was created after Maria died, when he was with Maria and witnessed her death.Gigasonic 22:29, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

The Blaze article states that:

  • Blaze is often referred to as a queen; however she is called a princess in Sonic Rush. She's referred to as "Queen Blaze the Cat" on the official Sega of America Sonic mini site, Sonic Central, as well as the next Sonic the Hedgehog game website; indicating that she may have been retconned into a queen, or referring to her as a "princess" may have just been a translation error, or possibly vice versa.

Clean Up

Perhaps we should make this look like a true game article now? Or do we not have enough information to do so?GrandMasterGalvatron 16:16, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

It's possible, it's just that people don't classify Sonic Cult as a reliable/accurate source right now so people are clinging towards waiting until the game's release, I think. But me, I think we do. Knuckles sonic8 22:52, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Whoa...

Man, I just saw 55 sections... some of this needs to be archived. --Luigifan 22:13, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Well...it was 54 before this one :P *shot*
But yeah, let's make another archive...though we should keep any active sectionsGrandMasterGalvatron 22:15, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
It's been archived before?!? Wow, people sure are talking about this one! :p --Luigifan 22:33, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Look at the top of the page...it's been archived THREE TIMES! :P
Secret Rings wishes it had this much attention XDGrandMasterGalvatron 22:35, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Yeah... I noticed that... --Luigifan 22:39, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Ok! It has been done!GrandMasterGalvatron 22:42, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Great job! Knuckles sonic8 22:51, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Rings

"In addition, the more rings Sonic carries, the faster his top speed is - similar to the Sonic Advance titles."

This is one of the more intresting pieces of info about this game. Can it be confirmed? -ROSSYMILES (ロシマイルス) TALK 10:15, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

I think it has been confirmed... about 3 or 4 months ago. --Luigifan 12:08, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

I remember it first being put about 5 months ago.Gigasonic 13:13, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

However, I tried testing this on the demo and there was no difference. Is it only for mach speed zones, or has it just not been incorporated in the demo because it has an old build from e3? Jack Bz

Probably. I sure hope that the game does have the feature though. But if you watch the environment trailer, you'll notice that when Sonic is in the Mach Speed zone, he speeds up when he gets rings.Gigasonic 22:22, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

The rings do NOT do ANYTHING to the characters. They have NO EFFECT. I have the game and it doesn't matter how many rings you have, they are only for a point bonus.

Japanese site updated

OK, first of all, they have Shadow's story. Mephiles doesn't appear in the crystaline form though. They also have the Rouge page. White Acropolis is the snow stage by the way. They also have a new video. I can't get it to work though.Gigasonic 13:50, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

details have been updated, and I've updated Rouge's image as well.
Translations coming soon, which will be put into the article. Oddly enough, the demo must have had a title card error.GrandMasterGalvatron 14:38, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Gigasonic, I ask you, please, PLEASE try to write on the talk page with a constructive purpose. Sure, you said the site was updated, but you did it in a way that caused it to look like a simple post as if this were a forum, which caused me to remove it. Try this: whenever new information comes out, talk about how it can be placed in the article...I removed a lot of stuff last night from you that was basically discussion about the game, not discussion about the article. Please be more careful in the future.-Sukecchi 15:06, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Some stuff on the page links directly to the info newly posted on the site, yet, they're not sourced. Will go through them all and start sourcing them. Notably, there are a few in the story section. Knuckles sonic8 21:51, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Mephiles the Dark?

I might have missed something. Since when was he referred to as Mephiles the Dark? It might be because I didn't read the entire script. But if I don't get a good reason, I'll remove it from the article.Gigasonic 13:31, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Yep, it was in the script and further character bios on Mephiles on Cult, I'm pretty sure. Knuckles sonic8 21:46, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. I didn't read the entire script, so I wouldn't know.Gigasonic 01:16, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Oí, I just thought of something... in the Last Story, when Mephiles kills Sonic, he really should be thanking his lucky stars that Amy's not there to witness the deed. :p --Luigifan 12:13, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

He introduces himself as "Mephiles the Dark". It's one of his first lines in the game and when it comes out, you'll have all the confirmation you'll need. Also, Amy is there when he kills Sonic, but no one thinks he's dead at first save for Shadow, Rouge, and Eggman.GrandMasterGalvatron 14:10, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Well the script on Cult doesn't give specifics so I guess it was hard to know for sure. Interesting to note, though, that people witnessed his "death". As I'm not getting the game, I wonder how interesting it'll be to see the facial expressions of Rouge, Shadow, Eggy, and Knuckles would be like when they witness it. Knuckles sonic8 21:03, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Stage Adaptations

In addition to the Japanese Site being updated, this link was given: http://www.famitsu.com/sp/sonic/. Once loaded, you'll see that the Wave Ocean stage was, indeed, based on Emerald Coast from SA, as well as White Acropolis, which was based on Icecap from the same game. If I'm not mistaken, the same page also shows some stages were based on a stage from Sonic CD and Sonic Advance 2 (?), respectively. Cool news, huh? It's official, too! :D Knuckles sonic8 00:48, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

It looks really cool, but babelfish won't translate it for me. It worked last time but this time it won't. It looks cool though.Gigasonic 01:20, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

tomorrow games comes out

so yeah tomorrow it comes out so we gotta be working extra hard over night tring to get

1.Voice Actors 2.Stories 3.End Plot 4.and last triva i'll be working on that and many more so yeah thanks and sonic speed Mr.Willison 11:34, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Super Transformation

Ok...I saw this bit:

"* Final Boss: It is a possibility that Super Sonic may fight Iblis, the final boss in its final form, known as Solaris, right after the "End of the World" stage. It is unknown if Super Shadow and the superform of Silver will fight Iblis alongside Super Sonic, if the assumptions of Iblis being the final boss, are true. "

Let me help clarify some things. According to the strategy guide, Solaris' first form is fought after "End of the World" three times. In the past as Super Shadow, in the present as Super Sonic, and in the Future as Super Silver.(who is apparently now golden instead of Silver). This will be the final boss until you get all S ranks and unlock the true ending. Solaris changes into his second form and is fought by Super Sonic alone.

Also, Super Transformation is available for level play. By S ranking everything, you unlock a "Super Emerald" in the shops. This is the aforementioned 8th Chaos Emerald which is rainbow colored. Equipping this item turns you into your Super Form. Only Sonic, Shadow, and Silver can use this item as Tails, Knuckles, and Blaze cannot buy items from the shops.

Again, this is all taken from the strategy guide for the game.

Oh, and the amigo characters are unlocked by clearing town missions and S ranking them as well. GrandMasterGalvatron 14:22, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Ok, so you're saying that you get S's on every single mission, act, and End of the World, and you'll unlock everything? That's pretty hard. Oh, do you know what the 11th stage is?Gigasonic 00:16, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Nice. Good job! But c'mon, didn't I call the rainbow emerald part? Oh, and Gigasonic, maybe the 11th stage is like the final stages like in SA2 and SHtH. BlackEDGE MkII 00:37, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

He just said that the Final Stage is End of the World. I did used to think it was something else too though, but when I read the script, I realized it wasn't.Gigasonic 00:56, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

You're doing it again...please stop.... -Sukecchi 00:57, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

The 11th stage is unlocked by collecting all of the Soleanna Silver Medals.GrandMasterGalvatron 17:29, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Back to the past... back to the past... Samurai Jack... Okay, I'll stop now. :p --Luigifan 12:20, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Narutochaos 13:33, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Can someone confirm WHERE in the strategy guide this information is? I just got it and have been flipping through it and I can't find it. If I find it, I will post the page number as confirmation...but until then...I noticed it was taken off the site (which is good). HOWEVER, just because it isn't in the guide DOESN'T mean it isn't true. We DO have confirmed images of the Rainbow Emerald thanks to the Hackers at Sonic Cult (despite rude attitudes, they do good work)but we don't know what it actually MEANS.Rogzilla 22:01, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Probably in unlockables. I don't have the guide myself (lack of availability) but some who does have it confirmed all of this.GrandMasterGalvatron 22:10, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry but I am not finding it! Until someone ACTUALLY has some sort of visual comfirmation (either a screenshot from the game or a scan from the Stategy Guide) then there is no proof. Someone claiming to have the strategy guide and posting on message boards isn't proof...it is hearsay. People come here looking for supported statements, not rumors taken as true because we all really want it to be! Rogzilla 21:40, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm afraid I'm going to call bullcrap on all this. I've beaten all of Shadow's town missions (various ranks) and I've not unlocked Rouge (unless I'm not looking hard enough but all multiplayer character select screens just show Sonic, Shadow and Silver). It'd be nice though. (http://live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/Achievements/ViewAchievementDetails.aspx?tid=%09%5d%3bcn-n7%05%01&compareTo=Groovy+Doogles is my achivements, Elite Agent is the one you get for beating all the Town missions - and it's even got Rouge on it!) - Super Doogles 16:38, 19 November 2006 (UTC) (EDIT: Dark Hero, achieved for beating all of Shadow's town missions with an S-Rank, doesn't unlock Omega. Ho hum.)

Blarg...I'll find out what the hell's going on and get back to you. Last I recall, free mode was unlocked by beating all act and town missions with an S rank. By the sheer fact that homeboy up there can't find any unlockables in the guide makes me doubt his word seriously. GrandMasterGalvatron 23:05, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

OK, I had a long ranting post here about not being rude to other posters but I took it down. I may be new here but at least I can respect other people and thier opinions (just because you don't like what I have to say, you don't trust me? WOW). Look, in the Prima Official Strategy Guide (who knows, there may be one from Bradly Games or whatever) there is NOTHING about unlockables. It really surprised me because of how THICK it was too! I have looked through it tons of times. ALL I am saying is in MY guide, there isn't any unlockables. It doesn't even mention Nights of Kronos. NOTHING! Now, if I have missed something (which is ALWAYS a possibility, I am human) please, show me wrong. I have NO PROBLEM being wrong. I want this to be true! MY point is, however, that just because someone puts it on a message board does not make it true. There is EVERYCHANCE the guy was LYING! Thus, it is isn't good enough to use as a citation, no matter how much we want it to be true.Rogzilla 00:09, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

I've heard naught about a free mode. If something's unlocked by scoring all Act Missions on S, I'll get back to you once I've finished that with Shadow. I've only got Kingdom Valley on Hard until I get that achivement, and then I'll work on the S's. And then we'll see what happens. - Super Doogles 01:01, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Shadow alone won't cut it. You must S rank the Act and Town missions for all three characters. Actually, I'm set to finally get ahold of the guide tomorrow. I'll see what I can find and scan the results.GrandMasterGalvatron 01:05, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
I could have told you that. I meant I was trying to score Omega and Rouge as playable characters (look in the amigo section of the article, it says I can that way). But yeah, definitely tell us what that guide says. With scans this time! ;) - Super Doogles 16:25, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Is true that there are a Rainbow Emerald and another Ending? Shadow_Energy 10:51, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

I dunno. I spilled the stuff about the Rainbow Emerald a while back, but nuthin' else has surfaced. Then again, this, along with the Void, could have been a feature Sega promised but couldn't put in due to time restricitons. Remeber that Sega promised "Speed Chip" as an buyable item for Silver? Well, it's NOT in the game. DeathGodDragon EDGE 22:18, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

I have all Soleanna Silver Medals :) User:Shadow_Energy 11:08, 17 Janury 2006 (UTC)

release date?

im confused, it the game comming out tomorrow or friday.Sonicboom53 19:58, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

I just spoke to the guys over at EBgames and they said it ships tomarrow. Now, this means it may not BE there until the 15 BUT it is still worth a check in the afternoon. Remember that Gears of War wasn't due out until yesterday but I saw MANY copies earlier. Also, every copy of Guild Wars I preorder always comes the day BEFORE it ships. So the SHIPdate is tomarrow but the offical release may not be until the 17th.Rogzilla 21:43, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

According to Gamestop the release of the game was moved to Friday November 17 since the Playstation 3 is coming out that day.Narutochaos 13:26, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Really? Even though the PS3 version isn't a launch title? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense...can this be confirmed through citation or was this with a conversation with someone working there...or do YOU work there and this was sent down from corperate?Rogzilla 16:38, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

It's out now. Several people have it. GrandMasterGalvatron 16:42, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

True, but the "official" release dates, as seen in ads, is the 17th. If it was delayed from the 14th, I would like to know why (ie-if it is the PS3 reason) It does raise an interesting question...what is included on the Wiki-site? The day it was available or the day it is officially released(I am still REALLY new to the wikithing)?Rogzilla 18:14, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Ok we've got a problem. Someone change the release date on the aritcle and making it December 19 2006! There is no site that says this and I think this is vandalism.Narutochaos 13:35, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Wha...

Wasn't there, a couple of weeks ago, a link to the English translation of the official Japanese Sonic 2006 website? What happended to the link? Was it tkaen down because it had too many spoilers? BlackEDGE MkII 23:48, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Here: http://www.sonic-cult.org/!trash/sonic_next/. Also: http://www.sonic-cult.org/newsx/fullnews.php?id=120. This link reveals the name of that guy in the IGN trailer wanting to race Sonic. Knuckles sonic8 00:06, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! BlackEDGE MkII 00:17, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Upgrades and new screens.

Now as you can see in one of the screens, it shows Sonic in his pose, but he has a bracelet around his wrist.[1] It also shows Sonic using some special shoes to go through red hoops. I know he has special shoes because the guy says if he made them correctly, he'll make it on time.Gigasonic 00:58, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, saw 'em all. Cool. Knuckles sonic8 23:13, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Cancelled PC Version

Since when was this? I dont remember an announcement that they cancelled the PC version.

CANCELED?!?! Okay, now I'm upset. But, where did you get told that they cancelled it? I haven't seen that anywhere. Has anything been said about a PC version since the Amazon.UK thing was found? I.M.Fearless 12:52, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

As I recall, Sonic Team hasn't even announced the PC version yet. As such, it's possible that it never was canceled--but because no announcements have been made, someone simply assumed that it had been canceled so they posted it. Just remove this false info. --Ultima 16:54, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

There was never going to be a PC version the game needed to use nex-gen conselses becuase of it's graphicsNarutochaos 13:24, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Do you really think a PC couldn't handle this game? Please don't fall for Sega's buzzwords. 69.247.28.49 16:05, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
Yes... a PC can definitley handle this game, and then some. As for whether not a PC will ever get the chance to, however, is up to Sega. -Prototime

One of the testers for this game said there would be a PC version. MindWraith 04:41, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Are there any sources for this? I'm very interested in a PC version being released. –Prototime (talk contribs) 08:18, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Info for Wikipedia:

PC Version (Rumored)

Since the appearance of the above shown poster, at least thousands of Sonic gamers on the forums of Sonic Stadium, Sonic Cult, Soniconthe.net, and Sonic World have been excited by the possibility of a PC version. A PC version with fixes on the console issues plus some of the wished-for features, such as online gameplay, downloadable levels and characters, and a polygon and texture control, would make Sonic comparable to Lora Croft on PC, as shown on many vidoe game forums such as Nintendocentre.com[2].

Many statements, such as a tester being sent to Sega France to test the PC version[3], have been made, but no proof has been shown. Online stores such as Amazon UK and Take2(South Africa) have a "Sonic the Hedgehog (PC)" for preorder also. Sega not denying the development of a PC version has brought many to believe it will be released, as shown on the afore mentioned forums. However, many illegal copies of PC Sonic games have been on the internet, especially on Soniconthe.net, and may influence otherwise.

Cast?

Are we sure that Jason Griffith is doing Sonic's voice in this one? I thought Sega decided to stop using the 4kids actors, aside from Mike Pollock.

The only two voices that seem to be cited here are Pollock as Eggman and Lacey Chabert as the Princess. It would be good to get some confirmation on the rest.

According to those that are playing the game, the 4kids cast is being used GrandMasterGalvatron 15:23, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

This, Secret Rings, and Rivals are (supposedly) the last games with the 4Kids cast. Besides, even if Sega decides to use the SA/SH cast, it's too late since the PS3 launches in 2 days, and supposedly, this game launches the same day as the PS3. BlackEDGE MkII 22:11, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Actually, the PS3 version has been delayed, so maybe the SA/SH cast will be used in that version. 18:07, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

...why? I don't think they'd give enough of a crap to spend more money on re-recording dialogue that's already been recorded for the game. Kirbopher 19:09, 16 November 2006

Well, if I'm wrong, then I'm wrong, but I still think that Sega is using 4Kids for the three aforementioned games. BlackEDGE MkII 01:35, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, they used the 4Kids actors for the Xbox360 version, and it'd make no sense for them to redo the voice acting with a different cast, so... Aguni Dragon-OX 21:49, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi. Just so you know, I have been adding Japanese voice actors to the cast sections of related Sonic articles. I need to do a "Japanese Voice Actor" section in the cast section. Let me know if that is a mistake or if it is not needed.Sjones23 00:09, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Does including this cast list improve the overall article as a whole, or would it just be an indiscriminate collection of information? –Gunslinger47 00:30, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
It would be possible to improve the overall article to include the Japanese voice actors, because the explanation is that it would not be an indiscriminate collection of information, but like most of the anime and game articles, they should also include Japanese and English voice casts as well. Sjones23 21:30, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
I also note that the Japanese and English voice actors were on the Sonic Adventure and character articles, so I feel that it is necessary to add the Japanese voice actors in Sonic-related articles as well as Sonic Game Articles. Sjones23 21:40, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Europe Release Date

Are you sure it's November 24? Because I live in the U.K and All the game magazines I've got say it's November 17.

All Hail Shadow?

I heard from someone who has the game that Shadow's theme is supposedly a remix of All Hail Shadow from ShtH. Can anyone confirm this? Cyberlink420 14:20, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

That would be interesting, huh? Dunno, I'm afraid. Sowey. Knuckles sonic8 20:33, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Indeed it is. I've heard it from multiple sources now. Rip coming soon. GrandMasterGalvatron 21:56, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Did you just say... a rip?! I can't wait! I'm especially stoked to hear the Wave Ocean theme! You doing it yourself? Knuckles sonic8 22:45, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

As a head's up, it's a slightly different version. I guess it's no giant deal, since apparantly the music from that specific game didn't exactly gain a lot of attention. Oh, and anyone have any confirmation about Dan Green as Mephiles? Kirbopher 18:03, 16 November 2006

Just did some research, and apparently, the AHS remix is done by Crush 40. Good thing too, as I would have thrown a big hissy fit all over the floor if they didn't do a single song for the game. :P Cyberlink420 23:52, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Got a source, maybe we can add it to the article? Knuckles sonic8 23:56, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Someone checked the game's credits after finishing one of the stories, and it lists them as performing the song. My copy of the game hasn't arrived yet, but when it does, I'll check to make sure it's true. Cyberlink420 00:58, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Phooey, I'd rather have "I Am". Ah, well, it did reference the Black Arms, so maybe it would have been out of place... --Luigifan 13:35, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

It is. It's also the only presence of Crush 40 in the game, so :( -Super Doogles 16:32, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Mephiles Controversy

Something I noticed and removed from the article and putting up for discussion:

"At the time of the Soleanna experiment ten years ago, he was warped into the past with Shadow, and was sealed away with him in the capsule that Maria used to launch him to Earth with. This is why Shadow harbors such deep resentment."

All unconfirmed... or should I say unofficially confirmed by Cult and as much as I hate to admit it, Cult is not considered that reliable of a source around here, plus, it is the only source to say so thus far. But, I'm sure this is debateful. Thoughts? Knuckles sonic8 22:45, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

It makes sense to me. This could be the explanation to why he looks like Shadow. Still, unofficially confirmed. You could put it in, but I can't insure it will stay unless the game confirms it.Gigasonic 23:42, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Exactly. I think it should stay out until we get solid proof of this - I myself of skeptical about this, actually. Knuckles sonic8 00:49, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Shadow travelled 10 years into the past with Silver and sealed Mephiles (created in the Solaris project alongside Iblis) into the Scepter of Darkness. Mephiles says "Your name, your form, I will remember" which is why he takes on Shadow's form later. Maria is not mentioned in Sonic 2006 at all (thank God!) - Super Doogles 16:40, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Sonic Go Wiiiii?

Someone keeps adding this to the "Features" section:

"*Although both Sonic and the Secret Rings and Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis will both be available exclusively for Nintendo systems, some Nintendo fans feel that the decision not to release this game on Wii is unfair, and at least one online petition has been started for a Wii release."

Should this be included in the article? I'm a little skeptical. If so, I don't tihnk putting it in the Features section would be fitting. Where else could it go? Knuckles sonic8 00:49, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps a "Controversy" section should be created. After all, I have a feeling that with the stuff about Iblis and whatnot, plus the whole Wii thing, there would be plenty of content that could be added to the section. Cyberlink420 01:00, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Lol. I made that. :P Anyway, I was contemplating that. Thanks, I'll put it in. (Also, I changed the format of the article somewhat and did a lot of clean up.) Knuckles sonic8 01:10, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

His World: Full Version

[4] Now this is some cool music. I've already put it into the article. Unless somebody took it out.Gigasonic 01:51, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

With lyrics like that, I don't think it would be missed. Anyway, sarcasm aside, I do suppose an official theme song of the game does deserve to stay on this article.

Story Update

Possible Crush 40 song

Where did this info come from? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.250.31.201 (talkcontribs)

What info? --Luigifan 21:12, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Oh before it was released I saw the info unconfirmed, but since than has been cleared up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.250.31.201 (talkcontribs)

The Truth

Well, now that the game has been released, I'm sure people are discovering many new things about the game and it's storyline. For isntance, on the character page for Omega, it was stated that he is seen in standby mode in Crisis City, and this is what is stated in the Sonic Cult script. Other references point to the fact that, thus far, the Cult script seems to be accurate. So what do you think, should we start adding info from this script into the article. There's a lot of stuff that can be added but I refrained because of issues with the Script. Is this still a debateable topic? I'd appreciate any comments. Note that this may apply to secular pages revolving aorund Sonic 06 (e.g., Mephiles and Shadow pages, for instance). Knuckles sonic8 18:33, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Music not in the entry

After checking myself, I can confirm that Crush 40 is doing the All Hail Shadow remix. Also, Silver's theme, Dreams of an Absolution, is performed by Lee Brotherton of the Remix Factory. Here's the rip.[5] I suggest this info be added to the Wiki ASAP. Cyberlink420 19:00, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Thank you. Will add it shortly. Knuckles sonic8 19:11, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Added source; so you know, that was already made mention of, just not with a source. Thanks again. Knuckles sonic8 19:15, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey, by the way, thanks for ripping it. The song sounds great! Better than I expected, actually. Can't wait to hear Shadow's theme. :) Knuckles sonic8 19:44, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

M.S or...

I've noticed this in the article, but even on the Metal Sonic character page in a different context. Here, though, this comment is made:

"Metal Sonic - Confirmed to be in the true final stage, known as "The Void", which is the 11th stage in the game. He supposedly absorbs the remaning energy of the defeated true final boss or may very well be the final boss himself. This event could be a tie-in to the Sonic Rivals storyline."

I edited the wording a bit from what it used to be but nevertheless, the question remains: is this or is this not true? Is MS really appearing in the game? Is "The Void" the final stage? Knuckles sonic8 19:11, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Metal Sonic's in this game? As much as i think thats cool, its a bit random having him just appear and absorb all the energy. Can someone confirm?

This isn't an official confirmation, but here it is[6]. It's not official at all.Gigasonic 13:25, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Sonic Adventure 3???

This site (in French) actually calls this game Sonic Adventure 3. [7] Should we include that in the article? 15:33 18, November 2006 (UTC)

Oh, that! Well... y'know, I thought I'd be able to give a clear answer since I read that already but it's purely debatable. It's how each person individually percieves the game to be, whether it's a true sequel to SA2 or not. But, I think I know how I can incorporate it. I'll fill you in shortly. Knuckles sonic8 20:35, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Best place to put it was in the Reception section. Check it out and let me know what you think of the way it's worded. Knuckles sonic8 20:43, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Excellent. You placed in the article cleverly. 20:47, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

plot

{{spoiler}}

if anyone knows the entire story line of the game, begin to create a section for the game's plot Bobcheezy- The sonic hero

I know the bit before the ending! Sonic's dead, then Elise goes on about something with the Chaos Emeralds, then she kisses him (OMG that is sick), then he comes back to life in super form, then him, Shadow and Silver (who turn super) go off to kick ass. but that's all I know XD. Hyper Hedgehog-formerly Project-Hedgehog 12.34, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Yeah I knew that already except the kissing part which I just saw you posted on the Elise Talk Page. Bobcheezy, I knew the whole story a long time ago but held back due to spoilers or whatnot. As I mentioned above, should I begin to add the information I discovered a long time ago and integrate it into the article? See above. Knuckles sonic8 14:30, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Acutally, got another question. Is it OMEGA or EGGMAN that goes along to collect the 7 Chaos Emeralds? The script I read did not specify; just the other 6. Also, what happens after the final boss with Mephiles at the end of Shadow's Story... more specifically, what happens to Omega? Is he featured in the "Last Story"? Knuckles sonic8 14:47, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Omega collects the second Chaos Emerald in a twisted version of Flame Core. At the end of Shadow's story, Shadow seals Mephiles in the Scepter of Darkness but he escapes ("What worked 10 years ago no longer does") and uses the green and yellow emeralds to create an army of clones. Shadow snaps off his rings and blasts through the clones causing MASSIVE FMV SLOWDOWN (or maybe it was a slow motion effect, you never know with Sonic Team.) - Super Doogles 16:43, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Yeah I knew about that part but about Omega, I wasn't aware of. Thanks for the info; so does he show remorse for Sonic's apparent death? On that note, how does everyone react to it (I know what Knuckles, Tails and the others say but I wanna know their facial expressions). I can now add this to the article, thanks. Remember who else gets which Emerald? Question: .... MAJOR SPOILERS...

{{spoilers}}

Y'know, for the ending, does Blaze come back to life cause of... well, y'know, about what happens with the whole thing. It doesn't say in the script about ANYONE and what happens to their lives afterwards, just that Princess Elise says it's familiar or whatever. Can you gimme some details, anyone about this or any of the above? Thanks. Knuckles sonic8 17:22, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

I haven't gotten all S-Ranks yet so I can't speak for The Void (if that is what it's called, or if it even exists, though the back of the pack does say "OVER 10 Levels") but Blaze is not present at the End of the World. Only Elise and Mephiles are present at Sonic's impalement (and after all that garbage about "Nice smile!" I cheered) but everyone else sees Sonic's body later in the space-time rift thing. Omega shows no emotion, Shadow shows barely any (he just notes that they can't defeat Solaris without Sonic) and Amy bawls. Knuckles looks mad.
Bawling, eh? Heh, typical Amy. --Luigifan 11:59, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
In the end FMV, Elise blows out the flame of Solaris (after giving more "Hey-look-I'm-a-human-Amy" crap about preferring Sonic to the rest of the world) and then everything is reset, with Elise not remembering Sonic but Sonic remembering Elise (?!) So, if it was reset, Blaze could still be alive. Or she could come back for The Void. That's a lot of S-Ranks, you know. - Super Doogles 17:43, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
EDIT: Forgot this part. Tails (Crisis City), Omega (Flame Core), Knuckles (Tropical Jungle), Silver (Dusty Desert), Rouge (Wave Ocean), Amy (White Acropolis), Shadow (Kingdom Valley), in that order, get Emeralds. Hope you didn't want colors.
Thanks. As I said, I knew about all that stuff so I knida figured Blaze's sacrifice was permanent. And thanks for the info on who's there when it happens right away. Like I said, I wasn't sure since the script isn't all that specific. If you EVER unlock The Void, I'm dying to know what happens in that stage. Oh, and I got a question: After unlocking the characters, y'know how they're playable in Trail or whatever, can you use them on any stage or only ones specific to that story. E.g., Amy and Blaze can only play on Silver's (versions of the) Stages, if that makes sense. And wha.... Sonic remembers Elise?! How?! :P Anyway, thanks for the info and no colors weren't needed for the Emeralds. :D Oh, by the way, what about Tails? What was his expression. It would hlep if I had a video somewhere but I can't find one. I've seen practically every vid except the scene before the final Act and the ending of silver's Story. Know where I could find either; I'm dying to see them both! :D Knuckles sonic8 19:14, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
See that's the thing, you don't actually unlock the other characters. Rouge plays Tropical Jungle for Shadow, Tails plays a second Wave Ocean for Sonic, and Blaze plays Wave Ocean for Silver, but other than that they're only playable in certain parts of certain stages (for instance: In Shadow's White Acropolis, you start as Shadow, then play as Rouge and find three keys, then go back to Shadow and take out searchlights in the Jeep of Awesomeness). Not even in multiplayer unless there's another way to unlock them than what the article says.
Tails' expression was kind of like "zomg Sonic's dead :'(" Not that I remember all that well or care to watch it again.
Sonic remembers Elise because Sonic Team writes plots as well as I perform neurosurgery (hint: notsogood). And no, I don't know where you can find the videos other than YouTube or Google Video (which I doubt would work), sorry. - Super Doogles 19:53, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
PS: I'm working on those S-Ranks. S-Rank Shadow's Flame Core hard mode was fun.
Unless it was removed from the game, I do believe that the other characters are unlocked by completing missions in the Town Stages. Tails, Rouge, and Amy are unlocked by simply beating the missions, while Knuckles, Omega, and Blaze are unlocked by completing the missions with all S-Ranks. I also do believe that this is in the strategy guide. From what I've heard, Amigos are unlocked by doing missions related to his/her main character (Tails and Knuckles for Sonic, Rouge and Omega for Shadow, and Amy and Blaze for Silver), and upon unlocking them, they are unlocked in the 'Trial Mode,' whatever that is, and also in Multiplayer Mode. --Ultima 16:02, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Obviously it was removed from the game (check achievements: Dark Hero is all Shadow's town missions S-Ranked, by then which should have both Rouge and Omega and I don't) kind of like the day/night cycle. :| (Where's Galvatron and his strategy guide?! I shouldn't be too mean, I was in Gamestop today and forgot to look at it...) - Super Doogles 00:48, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Wow, I can't believe i started this entire part just because i was pissed off that i couldn't figure out the plot for myself ( cuz i don't have a 360). anyway, thanks for filling me in. I read the guide in gamestop and sorta figured it out on my own. btw, we should definitely put this stuff in the article. It is highly relevant to the story, and the current article says almost nothing about the plot. someone should work on a way to incorperate it soon. Bobcheezy, the ULTIMATE life form

Music Section

Shouldn't it be changed? All of the stage music has been revealed. MindWraith 11:39, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Yeah I guess but at the time it referred to whether or not it was revealed from other sources OTHER THAN the game but I guess we can change that now, thanks. Knuckles sonic8 14:31, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Day/night cycle

Left Kingdom Valley going for about 20-30 minutes and no change. Even if it did exist, it doesn't move noticably in 10-15 minutes, which is all an average level takes. That sucks, because I was looking forward to that! - Super Doogles 17:49, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

That stinks, huh? Knuckles sonic8 19:14, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes. Especially since they showed us a video of it working months ago. - Super Doogles 19:56, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

News flash: you're probably going to need to wait a LOT longer than 20-30 minutes. What I heard about it is, the time change was planned to be real-time. Meaning that it would actually change according to clock time. So, try it in the daytime, and try again at night. I.M.Fearless 12:13, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

I've played this at every time of day. For instance around 11PM-midnight last night I worked on S-Ranking Radical Train's hard mode (that train moves fast) and it was still daytime. Night before that I spent about three forevers running around Soleanna's forest area looking for Town missions and it was still day. - Super Doogles 16:28, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

No Wii Release?

I relaized it wasn't available on the Wii awhile back. Now, this kinda makes me a bit upset. I am not getting a 360, ever, unless soemone gives itto be for like free, or a few dollars. So I was wondering, why wasn't it adapted to the Wii? SO I was wondering, would someone who knows like to add why it wasn't adapted? Pyrgus 09:12, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Because the Wii isn't powerful enough to handle the "realistic sensation of speed" and all that garbage. Instead of downgrading it they're working on a whole new game that uses the motion sensing. - Super Doogles 16:27, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Care to check that? -Power Slave 05:22, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, Sonic and the Secret Rings is just as fast, if not faster. Hyper Hedgehog

Maybe there are other reasons why as well cause, as was mentioned, Secret Rings does seem like it can get by with this "sensation of speed", as shown by the Chaos-Control like ability Sonic acquires in Secret Rings. I wonder if there are secular sources that testify to this... Anyway, I would, personally, love for it to get ported and it's always a possibility but as of the moment, is purely speculation as no other sources have claimed otherwise to it being ported to the Wii. I think maybe I'll search the web for stuff when I get around to it, just to be sure. I may even find other sources that state that iw on't be ported for whatever reason(s). Knuckles sonic8 17:45, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

I think it was foolish of Sega to cancel the Wii version in favor of Sonic and the Secret Rings. You never know if Secret Rings will even sell well. Next-gen's graphics and storyline beats it by a long shot. - B. Anonymous

More Music

Just found a site with the All Hail Shadow remix, as well as a few more songs from the game.[8] Someone please add a tidbit about Elise's theme ("My Destiny" by Donna DeLory) as well. Cyberlink420 19:55, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Free mode and a few other things

I beat the game a few days ago, although I don't have the "Void" stage, as thats a lot of work I haven't had time to do. A bit ridiculous, actually, all that to unlock mutiple things. Anyhow, I went through and cleaned up some things in the various sections that I noticed were wrong, but as this is my first Wikipedia edit, I probably didn't do it in the correct format, so if someone would go through and clean it up and make it official or what not, that would be wonderful.

Further, as I said I've beaten the game, and can go back and check things, so if anyone needs any information to fix this article, please feel free to ask me, as I have a lot of free time and would be more than happy to help fix up this article.

One thing I do have to note is that, while I have read mutiple places that you can unlock various characters in "free" mode, I have S ranked all of Sonics Missions, and completed all of Silvers, thus I "Should" have Tails, Knuckles, and Blaze. However, despite my best efforts, I have been unable to unlock this rumored mode, or play as those characters outside of their respective segments of the game. Whether this mode is unlocked by getting all the Golds/Silvers in the game or not remains to be seen, but as of now I'm thinking its unlikely.

Anyhow, as I said, any information you all need, feel free to ask and I'll go hunt it down. Peace.

Mass Society? Bah. 14:37, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

To unlock the amigos, you have to beat missions given to you by people inside Town Stages. I don't know about Silver's, but I believe that Sonic's missions are given to you by Sonic Man, and Shadow's missions are by the GUN Soldier. Simply beating them as Sonic, Shadow, and Silver get you Tails, Rouge, and Amy respectably. However, S-Ranks are required for Knuckles, Omega, and Blaze. Free Mode is unlocked by beating all missions as S-Ranks, I believe. I do not know, though. --69.210.125.237 19:52, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Actually, all the missions are given by random townspeople, and Sonic man is merely one of the trials in both Sonic and Silver's stories as someone you have to race against. As I said, I've completed all of Sonic's with S ranks, and working on S ranking all of Silver's. I'll probably S rank all of Silvers and Shadows tonight, starting on the Acts sometime tomorrow. As far as unlocking Free mode by S ranking everything, it will be awhile but I'll know eventually if someone else doesn't first. I doubt it though. Why unlock the Three amigos for merely beating the Trials when you don't have Free mode until you unlock everything? Shadow does have a few missions from a GUN soldier, but they're not his only ones, not in the majority of his, and Silvers are random towns people as well.

I'm hoping to try to verify or put an end to various rumors, but so far the only things that haven't been completed are gaining all Gold/silver Medals, and I doubt I'll be the first to get them all. Still, any questions you all have, feel free to ask. Mass Society? Bah. 01:09, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm going to talk in all capital letters now okay.
S-RANKING ALL TOWN MISSIONS FOR A CHARACTER DOES NOT DO ANYTHING. S-RANKING ALL SHADOW'S TOWN MISSIONS WILL NOT UNLOCK OMEGA. BEATING THEM ALL WILL NOT UNLOCK ROUGE. PRINCESS ELISE IS ALSO A FURRY. (Thought that last part needed pointing out.) - Super Doogles 22:59, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Wow, boy I'm glad that you went and S ranked everything, just to put an end to all the confusion, what a guy.... Mass Society? Bah. 01:09, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

I really am. - Super Doogles 15:49, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Ahem. There was some confusion spread by that achievements list. Now lets set the record straight. It's all or nothing. For Free Mode, it seems you must S rank ALL of the Town missions for Sonic, Shadow, and Silver. I have yet to see anyone do this. Also, for Super Mode (the emerald) you must S rank ALL of the Act missions for Sonic, Shadow, and Silver. The "Nights of Kronos" achievement is simply S ranking Last Episode. Collecting all of the Silver Medals is said to yield a gold medal and an extra level. I do not have the game, so I cannot verify this. (I'm basically telling you to do it :P). Also, the "strategy guide" claiming to say these things is apparently Japanese. The US guide does little besides locate all of the Silver Medals and give tips on the levels. Also, Super Silver looks ghey...and Mephiles rocks HARD...I saw the death scene...I officially love this guy XDGrandMasterGalvatron 07:39, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Off to Gold the towns missions. I'll have the offical story here soon. Uh, since "independent" research isnt permisable, any suggestions on where I should put the information so I can site it?

Mass Society? Bah. 13:43, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, better get started before I send the Xbox back to Microsoft. Thanks for checking into it Galvatron. (And if you're not right, I'm going to come back on here and complain at you.) - Super Doogles 15:49, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
You're turning this into a discussion about the game. Talk Pages are for Article Discussion only, I will remove this again if it continues. -Sukecchi 16:26, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
I actually did ask a question. Once I finish my "independent research", where should I place it so that it's considered a citeable source, or do I have to wait till an "official" document states it?
Doesn't the game's as-of-now-still unknown unlockables and possible 11th stage have a place in the article? We're finding the stuff out so we can put it in the article. We can stop talking once we have solid answers and proof that those solid answers are true (scaaaaaaaaans). - Super Doogles 22:08, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
I don't have the JPN guide to scan so we're out of luck on that one. I suppose we could hold off until someone actually completes the task and can verify said data.GrandMasterGalvatron 22:12, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

No, just finished doing it, didnt unlock anything. As a Wikipedia page is supposed to be about stuff thats actually in it, rather than things that arnt, this doesnt need to go in it, and such the problem of siting it is no longer a problem.

Mass Society? Bah. 22:28, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

You're referring to S-Ranking all town missions right? Thanks for finding that out. Guess we'll have to try Act Missions and Silver Medals now. :| - Super Doogles 01:05, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
How certain are you that you got them all?GrandMasterGalvatron 05:33, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
When you select Single Player, Trial Mode, Town Missions, it'll give you a list. Also, you get achievements for beating them all and then S-Ranking them all. He can tell. - Super Doogles 16:07, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Very well. Go for the ACT missions. After all, we all saw that Super Emerald icon and the decompile text refers to it as "gem super". It's definitely there...we just need to know exactly what it does. (For the love of Primus I hope it makes you super :P)GrandMasterGalvatron 18:40, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Knowing Sonic Team, it makes Big the Cat playable. Wouldn't happen to have a link to where I can see that, would you? - Super Doogles 19:36, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Looks like I dont have to, some one beat me to it. http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=929717&topic=32007012 there is no hidden level in the game. Must have been removed at the last minute. Might still be downloadable content, but as of now it does not exist.

Damn. As of right now, there is downloadable content available. We can make a section on it, and as more thing become available. GrandMasterGalvatron 19:02, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Cool! Probably those quizzes/tag games that were mentioned as mini-games but never made it to the final cutting board for the game. Any sources anyone can find, keep us all posted so we can, indeed, add a section on this. I'll see where it would be best suited. Knuckles sonic8 21:15, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Other Voice Actors

I'm sure plenty of people have seen the credits 20 times over at this point, so can we use the listed Voice Actors as a guide to who the other characters are played by. I'm pretty sure David Wills (Espio) is both Duke Soleanna and the G.U.N. guy talking to Shadow at the beginning of his story. Anyone got anything for Duke Soleanna, or the doctors and what-not?

Mixed Reactions

"This game has been recieved well by fans" should be changed.

I think it would be fairer to say the reception has been mixed. I've seen every kind of opinion browsing the Sonic fan-community, but I could not call their reception of Sonic '06 "well recieved" at all.

As an example: the talk on the Green Hill Zone forums, a major Sonic site, is extremely negative. One of the members wrote this: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/43273636/. I have encountered others comparing it to Superman 64. This game has not been recieved well by everyone, and the article should reflect it.

Seperated this from Voice Actors comment. It was listed as mixed but the summary leading into the reviews was too short. I added to it. Knuckles sonic8 14:03, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Void, and Super Sonic

The void stage as listed stated that as fact the rumor that a silver medal glitch was why the void stage wasnt unlockable, even though this has been disproven by two people now, to my knowledge. I changed the listed information over to the truth as it stands right now, but I doubt Gamefaqs counts as a reliable source, so I didnt bother siting.

Regardless, I think that the "Void" stage, and Super Sonic playable in normal levels should be prehaps mentioned in a "rumors" section that would change as more information came it.

If nothing else, the "Void" stage should just be removed from the page, but I dont think thats the right way to do it, or fans who suddenly notice "Gasp! The 11th stage...that no ones unlocked but I'm absolutly positive must only be because of a glitch" will probably keep putting it back in.

So, no new news on this stage, huh? Anyone? And I thought it was confirmed that Super Forms could be played throughout the stages using the Rainbow Gem -- apparently confirmed via the strategy guide. Knuckles sonic8 21:14, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

the Void is a stage which does not exist. I will remove it from the page.

Plot upadte?

Are we gonna start updating the plot yet? The teasers in each (e.g:When they arrive, they are first perplexed but before long, they find some disturbing answers.) If people haven't got the game, and want the answers to rumours they've heard, they need somewhere reliable to tell them the truth. I haven't got all S ranks yet so, I only know so much, but if we all work on it, people might start to get what's going on in Sonic The Hedgehog games.

If you want to know more go to the refrence desk not here.Eddy643 13:16, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't know who moved this page to Sonic The Hedgehog (2006 game), but I reverted it back. On GameFAQs, Metacritic, and Game Rankings, this game is titled with a lowercase article ("the" instead of "The"), just like the previous installments. Please do not change it back without discussing it here first. Hbdragon88 03:44, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Who the heck cares if some dumb game rankings spell this game with a lower case "T". I just got the strategy guide about 4 weeks ago, and the stradegy guide spells the word "the" with a capitial "T"--Not just for the game title, but for the characters too. Drewdy 22:02, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Drewdy

Jun Senoue didn’t compose, but did produce tracks.

From reading the ending credits of the game, Jun Senoue did produce some tracks on the game, 3 if I’m correct; including the main theme of the song, I'll get a source once I capture it off the game.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.174.149.133 (talkcontribs) 17:55, 4 December 2006 (UTC).

About Sonic apparently causing the Egg Carrier's engines too malfunction

Where does it state this? It says when they go into the future that Elise actually died on the exploding Egg Carrier, therefore Sonic couldn't have started it and saved her, could he? 81.170.119.192 23:12, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Yes; the second time he tries to save her, he succeeds but he learns that he is the reason he started the engines to malfunction for whatever reason. The first time (when he arrives too late), it is as still as if Sonic caused the engines to malfunction but since he was unaware of that fact and was kinda late to do anything about it anyways, (both) Elise (and Eggman) died. Anyway, think about with Shadow and Mephiles' first appearance; Shadow was clueless that he was the one to seal him into the Scepter of Darkness but it was a result of him sealing him later on that Mephiles came back to life, harboring such resentment for Shadow. It's the same paradox, but I have to admit, it's hard to discern at first I guess. Hope that helped but I may not have explained it that well - SEGA has confused a lot of people because of the whole game. Knuckles sonic8 01:43, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Time travel always screws up a plot. DeathGodDragon EDGE 17:11, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Well then why did the computer log in the future say that was when Elise died? It also doesn't mention anywhere that Sonic actually started it. 81.170.75.178 19:39, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

They're both predestination paradoxes. I don't know why it said Elise died, though... GKMorse 20:48, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

It shouldn't have with all things considered. Even more confusion on SEGA's part... Knuckles sonic8 23:47, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

But the whole predestination paradox is kinda speculation, especially if it said Elise died then. 81.170.112.178 19:17, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Well, Mephiles was right, then. Sonic IS the Iblis Trigger. If Sonic caused the engines to malfunction, and is Elise's death brought upon Iblis, then Sonic truly is the Iblis Trigger. However, how did Sonic cause the engines to malfunction in the first place? Yes, I know that the last comment was a while ago, but I figured I'd ask, anyway. I've seen every game scene (though I haven't played the game), and I've managed to uncover just about every secret of this game's plot--or at least speculate on how it likely happened. However, I never noticed this, before. --69.210.123.36 00:20, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Plot section

Why is it so... long? There's so much stuff that can be thrown out and condensed that it makes my head spin. --Guess Who 11:05, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I agree. The plot section could be a bit more streamlined. DeathGodDragon EDGE 17:15, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

I was thinking the same thing. I can offer my services but I don't want to make an edit that may be controversial and just be reverted. What did you all have in mind to make it more "steamlined" or "condensed"? Knuckles sonic8 20:09, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Well, I can't really say much cuz I don't own the game (yet), but there are a few events in the article that could be trimmed. Is there someone here on Wiki that owns the game and could contribute to this? DeathGodDragon EDGE 21:31, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

My bet is that Sony saw how the 360 version did, and they want to enhance it as much as possible.

Hate to burst your bubble, but it's been confirmed that it was delayed only only to give Sonic Team time to add downloadable content. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.244.42.204 (talkcontribs).
Could you link us to the confirmation? –Gunslinger47 22:24, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Hmm... the link was in the article, but it's gone. It linked to a site that said Sonic Team weren't finished putting online content in the PS3 version, so they delayed it.

Unless the downloadable content is some kind of patch or something that fixes many of the game's "problems", there really isn't anything Sonic Team can do to change many of the critics' opinions. ChromeWulf ZX 13:52, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Its not all bad

You know, not everyone disliked this game. There are alot of good things about it, and it has had quite a few good reviews. But in the reception it only mentions the bad points.

Probably because the reception is overwhelmingly negative. There is the occasional good review, but all the major gaming media rated it quite poorly. --Guess Who 19:47, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
The list of complaints ought to be reworked. I'll take a shot at reworking it after I read several reviews. I've not played the game personally, but I have played Sonic Adventure I and II quite extensively. If I make any mistakes, please try to correct me. PS: Remember that sources are especially important when relaying criticism or praise. –Gunslinger47 23:02, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
I deleted more than I had first expected. What I left were the core criticisms. The ones that I've never heard much debate over and the ones that are mentioned in every review that I just read. I also noted (from my experience) that these issues existed in some form or another in past titles. Now, I'll overview the criticisms that I stripped out.
Firstly, I merged the control complaints with the camera complaints. The reason for this is that much of the control issues are due to the bad camera, since controls are camera-relative. I still remember in Sonic Adventure I, they wanted me to walk along a thin path. Half-way down, that annoying pink thing says "Don't fall!~ ^_^" and the camera spins 90°. Was that some kind of sick joke? :)
I boiled down all the character-specific complaints into one entry: You play as Sonic less than 33% of the time. Complaining that the other characters are different than Sonic (i.e. Shadow drives around, Silver is slow, etc.) is just, essentially, complaining that you're not playing as Sonic in the first place.
As for "linear levels" and "running into trees and walls". I haven't played it personally, but I can't find many complaints about this specifically. Running into things when you're flying along at 90 miles an hour is a fact of life. Either that, or it's because of poor controls and/or camera angles, both previously mentioned above. –Gunslinger47 23:42, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

I think SEGA Will increase sales if they release Sonic the hedgehog next-gen to the PC otherwise I'l give this a miss,Heck they lately released a few Sonic games to the PC[This includes Sonic adventure 2,Sonic heroes,Sonic CD and Sonic riders so they should make this one to the PC Aswell]

Sonic Adventure 2 never saw a PC release, Sonic Adventure DX did. :P --Guess Who 09:58, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

That could mean that Sonic the hedgehog 2006 may can have a remix called Sonic the hedgehog 2006 DX Or something? That could mean that Sega's STH06DX Could have all bugs fixed with enchanced graphics for the PC Version right?

The majority of the game isn't spent playing as Sonic, big whoop

So? Who cares? Sonic adventure, Sonic adventure 2, Sonic battle, and plenty more Sonic games aren't spent the majority playing as Sonic and they didn't recieve critisim so why did this one did? I'll remove until further notice.--Coconutfred73 07:33, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

The game is called Sonic the Hedgehog that is why, it was thought that this game was going to be a reinvention of the series that focused on Sonic, that was until E3 when it tunred into Sonic Adventure 3. Sonic Hog 08:18, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Among the classic Sonic fans, all of those titles received such criticism. Being one of them, I know. --Guess Who 09:57, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Isn't Sonic adventure 3 Shadow the hedgehog?I've seen on the web that Shadow the hedgehog alternate title is Sonic adventure 3 so Sonic 2006 would be Sonic adventure 4.

No. There is no official source that has given Shadow the Hedgehog the title of SA3 (Kikizo doesn't count, by the way). --Guess Who 21:52, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

I hate it when some fans complain about Sonic's friends being playable. Can someone please tell me why they do this because if SEGA were to create games that just have Sonic playable, it would just be boring? - B. Anonymous

How old are you, there have been many games to star only Sonic and they are not considered boring because of this. Infact Sonic CD is regarded as one of the best and Sonic is the only playable character.Sonic Hog

Indeed. Sonic CD was awesome, as was a little game you might have heard of called Sonic the Hedgehog. It came out around 1991 and featured only Sonic and Eggman (Robotnik at the time, at least outside of Japan). --Guess Who 01:36, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
"Sonic adventure, Sonic adventure 2, Sonic battle, and plenty more Sonic games ... didn't recieve critisim"
...Didn't receive criticism? I'd rather play as Sonic than Big the Cat any day. Amy, gem hunting, mech fighting, kart racing, Chao racing... does this really add to the game, or does every second that you're not rushing along at sonic speeds feel like filler?
Anyway, regardless of your or my personal feelings, it is true that complaints about the secondary gameplay are "common". –Gunslinger47 00:38, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

I know but you guys shouldn't really blame the characters, you should blame the gameplays offered by them. Sonic Heroes returned Sonic to his roots, he just had help that's all. Just because Shadow's game wasn't the big game everyone hoped it would be, doesn't mean you have to HATE Shadow. Everyone used to love him more than Sonic, but now because of this other character issue, everyone hates him. Who knows, though, he might become one of Sonic's closest friends just like Knuckles did. - B. Anonymous. January 20, 2007

People have hated Shadow since his return in Heroes that completely butchered SA2's ending. --Guess Who 00:19, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
You are correct in that it's the gameplay of the secondary characters that the complaints stem from. There was nothing wrong with Shadow's gameplay from Adventure II. –Gunslinger47 04:04, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Well in sonic Adventure 2 the secndary players had good well basic controls and there were more percise and they were faster but in this one they are slow and Omega's gun does not even have a lock-on feature well it does but does not show what you locked on to. and shadows moves are not good he cannot even do a simple spin dash and when did his color turn from gloden to red and get this he cannot even use a chaos control in game. Tails fly but that all he does. Rouge glides and drop bombs which is like wow when did she turn for knucles style fighting to tails? Amy S-U-C-K-S okey get this she turns invisable and when she turns uninsibleable she stop right on the spot and for about 2 seconds and you know if you play sonic games you cannot stand still. Even for a second.Knuckles is well powerful but his moves are too non-presise. Lets see umm yeah last is Blaze the Cat the only good one because she can use homing attack. I think that Sega sould bring back Sonic Adventure style moves presise and powerfull, and Silver should go back to the future and stay in the future. I do like him it's that too many hegehogs. Shadow should quit the GUN and when did he join? Last they should make the secondary charters a option to play. And No more bottom less pits, in Sonic Adventure remember the good old days when you got though the level without trying getting though the level all those pit arggh. And last 9 levels wow down from the 30 in Adventure 2. Thats all thanks Mr.Willison 18:32, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

PS3 Review

Did the Playstation 3 version revice better reviews than the 360?Themasterofwiki 13:20, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Game Rankings has only one listed currently. The review is from Game Informer, who gave the X360 version and PS3 versions identical scores of 67.5%.[9] That score being around 7% less than the average score for video games and 20% more than the average Sonic360 score.
By the way, please get a source for your recent contribution where Sega claims to have fixed "the" problems for the PS3 and PC releases. –Gunslinger47 15:03, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

I read it on Sonichq.org.Themasterofwiki 13:23, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Watching videos of the PS3 version on Youtube reveals that it is exactly the same as the Xbox 360 version. It even slows down in the same spots. They did not fix it. BlazeHedgehog 13:59, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
Again, that is for the Japanese PS3 version. Does anyone read the text people post? Unless you found some other than the three recently posted, it's the Japanese version, which was released at the same time as the Japanese 360 version. Not saying I think it will be any better, just saying that we can base it off those movies. If someone posts them on YouTube and say the US PS3 Version of the game, then it is a little more verifiable. I still find it hard to believe that no one has gotten around to reviewing this game yet, or posting it. I'm guessing that there was an extreme lack of sales due to the 360 version's downfall. --Ultima 15:41, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh, okay. Because, you know, the 4 weeks inbetween the English Xbox 360 version and the Japanese Xbox 360 version totally mattered, right? BlazeHedgehog 11:29, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
When you discover where, exactly, on Sonichq.org it is and what their source is, you can put the fact back in. In the meantime, I'm removing it. I've tried searching their site myself, but have found no mention of it. –Gunslinger47 17:56, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
As a staff member of Sonic HQ, I can't say as I can verify where exactly they would've read that; it's not on the news section, and while it's possible they could've gotten it from the forums, I'm pretty sure there isn't a consensus leaning toward any statements like this (I should know, I practically live there).
This being said, I've seen posts on, say, S2Beta that explicitly state that the differences between the two versions are negligible, as I would expect. The load times are more inconsistent in length, but are in all the same places and, on average, are just as bad. All the control and camera issues remain. Apparently there's a bit more slowdown. The good news is that you can once again just jump into enemies to kill them, but this isn't anything major. In short, I fail to see why they delayed it... --Shadow Hog 01:53, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

GameSpot has released a review for the PS3 version.[10] They gave it 4.2. That's 0.2 points lower than the X360 version's score of 4.4.[11]Gunslinger47 02:14, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

The two reviews are identical except for this text:
"Compounding the issue is a very sketchy frame rate that slows the entire game down at seemingly random intervals. Considering the main appeal of Sonic is that he's supposed to be able to run fast, all the sluggishness really takes away from the game's already ugly presentation."
They took an extra point away from the PS3 version's graphic score. –Gunslinger47 02:22, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Reviews are coming in now, with consistantly lower score for the PS3 version. GameBrink is particularly disgusted.[12] The reviewers are reporting that load times and frame rate issues are worse than those experienced on the relatively inexpensive 360 hardware. –Gunslinger47 04:53, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

PS3 On Best Selling Games

The game has sold way more copies than it first did for the PS3 version sevral sites have it on backorderd.Themasterofwiki 15:26, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

- You do mean that the PS3 version is selling way more that the 360 version, right? Well, it is SLIGHTLY better, overall, but I think that the real reason is that after the Dreamcast's downfall, Sonic had always been most popular on GC, with PS2 second and X-box third. Sonic games never sold well on the X-box. The PS3 version, overall, is a little better that the 360 version, but not by much. --Ultima 15:40, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

The fact that the PS3 just launched and there's a dearth of "must buy" games probably is helping the game sell more, too. BlazeHedgehog 17:10, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Regarding the choice of "Critical Reception"... The standard in game articles is to use Reception, however people kept tossing criticisms into it, making it more a Criticism section. I decided on the middle road of Critical Reception. If you think one is better than the other, you may go ahead and change it. –Gunslinger47 00:27, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

In reviews, the game suffers primarily due to technical reasons. If you can be very forgiving and look past these, then it would rank a whole lot better. Especially if you're a fan of the series. However, Sonic Adventure I and II, plus Sonic Heroes were all better games than this. Even with technical issues aside. –Gunslinger47 01:41, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

The Sonic team has been rather silent since they released the 360 version, so we have no official word on anything, but we can make a pretty safe assumption regarding your question. Reason to believe it took place 10 years later

It says But theres no reason to believe it takes place 10 years after shadow the hedgehog. There is one reason. when u do a mission for this GUN agent he says that shadow took the test of strength YEARS AGO. I doubt it does take place 10 years later though since Tails for example should be 18 if that were true.

Unless you have something to say about the levels, or some point to be made regarding them, including the information is indiscriminate and unencyclopedic. The info here is faulse. Sonic the Hedgehog PC is Sonic the Hedgehog (1) not Next Gen. As of right now Sega has no plans on releacing this game for the PC. However it is possable that it will be soon. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.242.211.132 (talk) 23:08, 18 March 2007 (UTC).
