Okay, done. I asked the lady who started the sphynx.nu site but she's been unable to provide the photos any more. So I pointed to an interview with Ted.

There wasn't a sphynx cat in the book, it was the sphinx they were referring to. I'm also not aware of ever seeing the cat used in any of the movies.Heath Buckmaster 01:55, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

It might also be worth adding the image http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/8f/Ted_Nude_Gent.jpg to the page somewhere...it's the image from the page "Dr Evil" (scroll down) and is of the hairless Mr Bigglesworth which is mentioned on this page SmUX 21:08, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Could someone point out any other instances where the Sphynx breed was in the movies or is Mr Bigglesworth the only one? the kitten named belfry grog owned by michelle berge was sent down for the shooting of gold member to play mini mr bigglesworth.. but they ended up not using him cuz vern troyer had trouble holding him. also the cat named belfry mel gibskin was on an episode of friends.. this was told to me by the breeder michelle berge of the belfry cattery.

Well here is some more stuff i found on the net about the origin of this cat "In 1970 the Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA) granted provisional status to the "Canadian Hairless." The next year, however, CFA withdrew recognition due to the health problems and breeding difficulties. At the time, it was believed that the gene associated with hairlessness was lethal. That line became extinct.

The Sphynx as we know it today began in 1975, when Minnesota farm owners Milt and Ethelyn Pearson discovered a hairless kitten had been born to their normal-coated farm cat, Jezabelle. This kitten, appropriately named Epidermis, was joined the next year by another hairless kitten named Dermis. Both were sold to Oregon breeder Kim Mueske, who used the kittens to develop the breed. Minnesota breeder Georgiana Gattenby also worked with kittens from the Pearson line, using rex cats to widen and strengthen the gene pool. These lines proved to be healthy. The name "Sphynx" was chosen, named after the Great Sphinx of Giza." Care

I slightly changed the care section as it seemed misleading before. People will come here to check any rumors they've heard about sphynx being hypoallergenic. It's important not to accidentally mis-lead people to think we are saying sphynx are never hypoallergenic or that they are always hypoallergenic. They will use this page as part of their decision making process, so we need to somehow mention pet dander AKA dust allergies (in my "original research" they produce less dander but no less Fel-D1). We only need to mention the difference not make a claim either way, let people do their own work. We should look for sources. In the mean time, I think the revision I made is a good tweak that doesn't violate Wikipedia's standards.

We should try to mention that there is a difference between pet dander and cat specific allergies but I didn't have a source to cite so I didn't do that. 75.164.144.134 (talk) 07:19, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Famous Sphynx Cats

I recently added an additional explanation regarding the entry for "Mr. Kat from Kid vs. Kat. It was removed very shortly thereafter. I have now removed the reference to this character entirely. It is clearly established in the series that Mr. Kat is, in fact, NOT A CAT AT ALL but is actually an extraterrestrial alien who simply looks like a Sphynx cat.
