Main Article for first Spy Kids[edit]

Isn't there a main article baout the first Spy Kids? Instead of the whole entire trilogy? Unless we someone could REMOVE THE WHOLE ENTIRE ARTICLE TO MAKE IT JUST ABOUT THE FIRST SPY KIDS. Requested move[edit]

I think that this article should be moved to Spy Kids (trilogy) without the redirect to this article because this article should be about the first Spy Kids Movie. Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams and Spy Kids 3D: Game Over has their articles so why can't the first one have it's own article? While there is evidently support for having two pages, one for the first film and one for the trilogy, I am loath to move this page until there is something to replace it with. I would suggest starting the page which is intended to replace the current one at a new title, like Spy Kids (film). Serious comments only please - part of the problem with "trilogy" is just the fact it is tied to "three". Particularly recent film series have a habit of being "added to" (see. Die Hard, Indiana Jones etc). The only "loss" of precision is the 3 aspect which is itself a problem. Spy Kids 4[edit]

"Robert Rodriguez is writing "Spy Kids 4," which he will direct in 3D. The movie will be made in partnership with Disney and will start shooting in March, Weinstein said."

My prediction[edit]

All three Spy Kids movie must be released on Disney Blu-Ray since the next movie is coming soon from Walt Disney Pictures. The third Spy Kids movie might be presented in Disney Digital 3D. Table Problem[edit]

Machete[edit]

I have been wondering for a while: Is the film Machete a spin-off of Spy Kids in any kind of way? It does have the character of Machete Cortez (also played by Danny Trejo. Also, this article says the Machete is the "estranged uncle" of Carmen and Juni. If there is any reliable source that says this, can someone add it to all of the Spy Kids articles (or at least this one and the first film in this series)? Thanks. I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that the "Spy Kids 5" section can be removed considering it doesn't have an actual source. Also I couldn't find anything supporting that plans for such a sequel exist. Spy Kids and Machete canonicity and placements[edit]

Are the Machete movies really a spinoff of the Spy Kids movies?
Yes, Spy Kids and Machete share the same character and actor, and yes they are both made by Robert Rodriguez. But, SK!Machete and Gritty!Machete are also two different personas. Like the TMNT franchise. Same character shells, different takes on personalities. The Spy Kids Mission Critical reboot is an AU, yes, but at least it was confirmed to actually be part of the Spy Kids franchise. I'm not so sure about Machete being an "official" spinoff of Spy Kids. Who said that? WHERE is it said? At least link to where it was said. Like Zucat said, fan theories are indeed taken way too far. I think people who claim they definitely are in the same universe/is a spinoff are just parroting at this point, because they have no other proof other than "they looked it up" or "someone said it", and they don't take it with a grain of salt.

They are separate distinct series, loosely related by some common elements but Machete is not part of the Spy Kids franchise. Absent some reference that explicitly states it is part of the Spy Kids franchise it doesn't belong in this article. Support merge for Carmen Cortez and Juni Cortez to Spy Kids, as there is no negligible content or notability beyond summarizing the plot of Spy Kids and sequels.

The Machete (character) article can stand alone, as the character achieved sufficient notability beyond the context of Spy Kids. There's a meaningful amount of sourced content directed to the character itself. The character launched a separate Machete franchise, as well as achieving sufficient cultural significance to appear in a Snickers ad independent of either film franchise.
