[edit] Critical Response 2

Hi Ckatz, Would you mind giving a little bit of explanation before deleting sourced material. And in case you are too busy to do so just understand that wikipedia does not have a veto system. Hence you can not delete thing saying that you are going to argue later. (Better bother to edit and argue when you are free.) I am undoing your undo, but I do not like to go to a "edit war". Let us talk and decide things up. If you are too bust too talk it is fine, then let it stay for sometime and then we can fix it up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pallab1234 (talkcontribs) 08:40, 17 June 2009

[edit] Cast list

Not to make a big issue of this, but I've noticed that the cast list in the Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe and Stargate Infinity articles have the actor and character names in bold, while SG-1's article does not. For the sake of consistency, can we decide to bold the list in this article, or un-bold the list in the other articles. SCΛRECROW 07:33, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

IIRC, WP:MOSFILM (which served as a basis for WP:MOSTV) used to recommend the bolding of actors and characters. However, it now discourages that practice, since when I don't know. MOSTV doesn't mention the format at all. I'd therefore recommend to unbolden all names. – sgeureka tc 12:51, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Longest Running Science Fiction show in North America

Not wanting to be too controversial here, but the math that makes Smallville the longest running North American SF show isn't correct. Smallville, when it finishes on May 12, 2011 will have run for 9 years, 6 months and 27 days. SG1 ran for 9 years, 7 months and 14 days. In terms of numbers of episodes, Smallville has a couple extra.... but in terms of time SG1 ran longer. Both the Guiness Book of Records and the Wikipedia Longest Running TV Show page uses dates started/finished as their way of checking "longest running program".... not how many eps. Deathlibrarian (talk) 13:30, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

I've removed it as it has not been noted by Guinness or any other source that would make such a pronouncement. While it is likely that they will, we cannot jump the gun and make the call based on our own calculations and speculation. --Ckatzchatspy 10:14, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
It's been put back, with GateWorld as a source, which I don't think is reliable. As this affects a number of different articles, I've started a discussion here: Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard#GateWorld as a reliable source for Guinness World Record information? [edit] Foxtrot-class Submarine

The Foxtrot-class submarine used in a few season 4 SG-1 scenes was filmed alongside the New Westminster Quay, where it was moored. It was purchased by a private individual and towed across the North Pacific from Vladivostok. It was intended to be used for tours. The business eventually failed. I believe it is no longer moored in that location. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TolarisTango (talkcontribs) 04:56, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Special force and mercenary

The lead says "Stargate SG-1 chronicles the adventures of the special force and mercenary squad, SG-1". To the best of my knowledge the two SG-1 members who are military, are air-force, as is SGC itself, which is stressed quite a few times throughout the series, not special forces, and definitely not mercenary. Debresser (talk) 01:17, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

This has now been corrected in these edits. Debresser (talk) 10:29, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
