Hello, In the interest of transparency I am declaring that I work for Walgreens Boots Alliance. I would like to share with external editors information on Stefano Pessina's marital status, to ensure that this Wikipedia article is accurate.

He is in fact divorced and not separated. In the 'Personal Life' section, please replace first sentence "Pessina, though separated for 24 years, is still married to his wife, Barbara" with "He is divorced from his wife Barbara".

@GretaBonsi: As this article is a biography, any update would be "purely biographical". We need to edit in accordance with Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons and Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources, and you really should familiarise yourself with those policies. I am unable to find anything in a quick online search to substantiate an actual divorce. Indeed, a June 2016 article about Barra in Crain's Chicago Business specifically states, "The pair have been together since the 1980s and have no children; Pessina has not divorced his wife, Barbara, with whom he has two adult children." Hello, in the interest of transparency, I am declaring I work for Walgreens Boots Alliance. I would like to ask for two changes to the article, in the interest of accuracy:

UK Labour Party Controversy - The following sentence: "He currently makes 540 times the median employee for the company. Pharmacists for the company have not received any raises in over four years.[citation needed]" is unsourced and it also doesn’t seem to have any relation with the topic of this section. I believe this sentence should be removed.

Career - The following sentence: "Pessina was chairman of Alliance Boots from 2007 to 2014 and currently serves as Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Pessina is a director of Walgreens Boots Alliance" is incomplete, as he is Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Walgreens Boots Alliance. I think it should therefore be replaced with the following "Pessina was chairman of Alliance Boots from 2007 to 2014 and currently serves as Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Walgreens Boots Alliance, the company created through the combination of Walgreens and Alliance Boots in December 2014" [1] [2]

Email Fraud Warning[edit]

I just received a funny email from "Stefano Pessina" promising a donation of 1 million Euro to me (who else?!). New to me was that this email contained a link to this article. In the edit history I saw that someone else was trying to note this fact in the article, what is of course inappropriate. I assume that Mr. Pessina does not have a clou about mails beeing sent in his name. I came here to see if the spammers had tried to place any dangerous links in this page. I could not find one but anyone else is invited to check this too. -- Dr. George (T) 06:44, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I recieved the (probably) same email. I don't see what is the purpose of it apart from collecting email-addresses, but perhaps there is some other use for the writer of this mail. Got the same e-mail (exactly how I got here). Two, in fact. Same text, same links. Funny, the messages came from one address, but the contact e-mail in the messages themselves is different (although both include S.Pessina's name). Edit: Apparently the fake S.Pessina offers different sums to different people. In the messages I got, he offered $1,200,000.00 (since I got the message twice, does that mean he offered me $2,400,000.00?). The removed wiki-edit mentions $20 million (in spite of the misplaced dots, it's clearly 20 mil.). Dr.George claims they were offered 1 million Euros. Comment The reason why such emails are so obviously fake is that scammers are looking for the most gullible people - those prepared to pay smaller sums in the hope of getting a large windfall, and they want to weed out "false positives", those who might go along with the scam for a while but never send any money. Making clear abbreviation "WBA" is for this page to avoid cofusion with West Bromwich Albion[edit]

Phishing attempts linking to this wiki page as reference/ credibility[edit]
