Clean up needed[edit]

This article needs work to (a.) clarify when it became a sultanate and (b.) fix the chronology. I invented it from cut & pastes, so it's still quite weak. It's better than nothing (a lot was pointing here), but it needs help. --Smilo Don 14:03, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Aru = Deli?[edit]

There's a lot of confusion between Aru and Deli out there. Ricklefs says they're separate, so that's good enough for now. --Smilo Don 18:52, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Move and reconceptualize?[edit]

We have a lot of things that could combine here. Deli River. Deli railways. Tanah Deli. The Sultanate of Deli. Deli Serdang Regency. The Dutch introduced tobacco here... There's the intro. of Islam here... conquests... Important area for far-flung trade. Anyway, this article would probably be better as just Deli, with geography, history, economy, etc. Would require a DAB with delicatessen. --Smilo Don 14:13, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
