There is nothing in the song to suggest that Maria was," ostensibly Hispanic". There is a sort of hispanic feel to the song, particularly in the horn arrangement and Maria is often a hispanic name, but certainly (one of the 23 words meaning my opinion) not always. Shouldn't the correct title be "Take a Letter, Maria" (with a comma between "Letter" and "Maria")? Does anyone know for sure? Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 16:40, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
