Religion[edit]

In Tequixquiac no Azkenazi Judaism, only Sephardic heritage or crypto-Judaism, here was named israelitas or judios. Tequixquiac hasn't got a synagogue or active jew comunity, Judaism maybe is practiced at home with Roman catholic costumes, people don't eat pork or eat pork without skin, put in down floor her lates with white sheet or celebrate parties with Jew calendary as soon as Januka (candle day) or Pascua day. Other religion in Tequixquiac was a Methodist temple, made by English inmmigrants precedent to Pachuca and Real de Monte when built a Gran Channel tunnel in El Tajo by a English company. Catholicism is predominant religion in all municipality, but arrived after Mexican Revolution other Christian denominations as Evangelical and Pentecostal churches, in 1990 start in this municipality a spiritual movements as only Christians or Jehova's witnesses and Mormons. Toponym[edit]

This is general ethimology about Aztec word tequixquitl in Wikipedia; (Chemically it is an alkaline rock composed of various minerals, which changes its ratio according to where is obtained. It consists mainly of sodium bicarbonate and common salt (sodium chloride), but also contains potassium carbonate, sodium sulfate and clay. Its appearance is similar to that of common table salt in coarseness, but with a more greyish color).

In municipal monography says in Spanish El nombre de origen náhuatl se compone de tequixquitl, carbonato de sosa natural y de atl, agua; significa entonces: En el agua tequesquitosa (Contreras Pérez, Luciano, maestro en lengua náhuatl, fuente oral). Rodríguez Peláez, Maria Elena, Monografía Municipal de Tequixquiac, Instituto Mexiquense de Cultura, 1999, p.p. 13).

There is no English translation. Saltpeter and Sodium Bicarbonate are not Tequesquite. Tequesquite is the name of naturally ocurring mineral salts in Central Mexican lakebeds. The link to the article makes any attempt at translation supefluous. Municipal monographies are not reliable sources for Nahuatl etymologies, they almost invariable include folk etymologies and errors in their Nahuatl translations.·maunus · snunɐɯ· 19:30, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Is correct, in the Municipal monographies a Nahuatl etymologies have got many errors. But the real Nahuatl etimology is correct, tequixquitl = tequesquite, atl = water and c = place. Other toponyms in Mexico are Tequixquiapan (Querétaro), Tequixquitlah (Tlaxcala) and Tequixquitenco (Morelos). --Marrovi (talk) 19:38, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's obvious, what do you thing about contradanza word?, all town says this a Spanish dance, the composition no indigenous steps.

We have got other ritual dances, for example concheros, a dance with indigenous elements, this no Christian dance, not is dancing in the church, it is dance at the main Cuautémoc plaza.--Marrovi (talk) 20:06, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mesa Ahumada[edit]

Mesa Ahumada is named in Tequixquiac, but in Apaxco is named Cerro Colorado, this small mountain is the same. I don't know if this article we need to use the two names?. --Marrovi (talk) 04:38, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tequixquiac and Santiago Tequixquiac[edit]

Santiago Tequixquiac is a town, Tequixquiac is a municipality. Tequixquiac has got town pre-Columbian towns or altepeme, Tequixquiac and Tetlapanaloya. [11] In Mexico there is municipalities bigger that the towns.
