Customizable TOS[edit]

Anyone know where I can find a free Terms Of Service that I can easily customize to my needs? Thanks 03swalker 20:10, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Cleanup November 2008[edit]

05-Nov-2008: I have completed initial clean-up of the article "Terms of service" with the main focus as removing unsourced opinions and adding other text backed by sources. More details could be added, but text should focus more on facts, rather than opinions of "user rights" unless stated as policy of a particular company, rather than just a good idea as an opinion. -Wikid77 (talk) 08:31, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

Information Incorrect? (In part)[edit]

I believe that not all Terms of Service agreements can be enforced, depending on whats written there is a limitation. Can someone please verify this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.98.45.232 (talk) 08:08, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

How many people actually read these documents?

(Tjrtr0 (talk) 23:01, 26 October 2010 (UTC))

Probably not many. Depending on how long it is/how important it is (bank website vs. random message board), I may skim it, or I may ignore it completely. Based on talking to other people, I'd guess that not many people do. Unless we can find some official studies on it, though, I'm not sure if you can really mention it in the article. Personally, I find some ToS documents to be unreadable and/or unfair to the end user. I'm surprised that there isn't a "Criticism" or "Controversy" section. 68.173.113.106 (talk) 20:25, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

Archives of Terms of Service[edit]

The site http://tos-archive.wikispaces.com/ may be relevant to this page. It's an archive of Terms of Service, based off a invite-only wiki, intended to create a corpus of TOSes for purposes of research and analysis. It currently has 36 documents archived. Likewise, http://tosback.wikispaces.com/ is relevant, similar and has been around much longer. (See Talk:Privacy_policy#Privacy_Policy_MediWiki_home_neededFOUND)--Elvey (talk) 16:27, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
