Untitled[edit]

Please note that the United States' clothing retailer has the name Gap Inc.. The store is not actually called The Gap. There has been a comment that the store's administration no longer wants the store to be called by its common-usage name of The Gap.

The name 'The Gap' is therefore a misnormer for the store.

Cleanup tags[edit]

Unless ChrisRuvolo specifies exactly what he feels is wrong with the article and what he feels needs to be cleaned up, there is no point in his putting on the tag. I am not a mind reader and I have no idea what his problem is with the page. Figaro 12:42, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It does not comply with recommendatons of MOS:DP or Wikipedia:Disambiguation. The edits by Tedernst (t c) were to bring this disambig page into the style guidelines, but they have been reverted. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 22:43, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect page[edit]

I have again made the page a redirect page. Now the clothing store is properly identified, and those Americans who persist in calling the clothing retailer "The Gap" will be able to find it. Figaro 23:02, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge this with Gap[edit]

Am I taking crazy pills? This page already exists. There may be some entries here which need to sync with the entries at Gap, but surely we don't need both pages. It looks like someone just copied all the content from that page to this one a few months ago and then started adding tons more links that don't need to be here. Remember: only include articles on topics which are commonly known as "The Gap", NOT every last place that has the word "Gap" in its name! SlackerMom (talk) 20:55, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agree that The Gap should only be for those entries that are likely to be linked as "The Gap". And the Gap page should only be for those that would be linked as "Gap". Just because something has Gap in its name, wouldn't be sufficient for inclusion on either disambiguation page. --El on ka 05:24, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
