Thanks to both of you..one further question, there are currently three Lost World: Jurassic Park articles and I am working on a fourth, shall I create a disambiguation page for them? it will get a bit full on the top of the games pages to inform them off videogames of the same name? Oh..one problem...someof the games are ported on other formats (there is one article for the dreamcast and the playstation version together, which is called Lost World (videogame) (or something like that)) and also one called (gameboy game) and (arcade game). Then you could move the one that is currently at "videogame" to another name. To do that, click on the "move" tab at the top of the article. On the next page you will be asked for a new name for the article. The new page will have the old info moved to it and the old page will then be a redirect to the new page. Okay..Ill move the page currently at (videogame) but what to call it..it contains a playstation and sega saturn version of the game..shall I call it (Playstation game)as its the most common version and the one the cover art is of? Fethroesforia 18:42, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Which system was it originally created for? If it was ported to PlayStation from the Saturn, call it (Sega Saturn game). Or, vice versa. If they were released simultaneously, that complicates matters. -- Kesh 18:58, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, here's a compromise: GameBoy is a portable system, and Arcade is... well, an arcade system. So, the PS and DC versions are Console systems. Rename it to The Lost World: Jurassic Park (console game), then you'll have all of those versions on the disambiguation page. It's not ideal, but it would help clarify.
However, I think it's unnecessary. The Game Boy article is a stub, and the Arcade article is just a list of dinosaurs encountered. They really should both be merged into The Lost World: Jurassic Park (console game) and the pages redirected to that.
At this point, I think we're moving beyond the scope of the help desk. I'm going to copy & paste this discussion to the (video game) page, and we can continue there. -- Kesh 21:48, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merger[edit]

A merger has been proposed by an anonymous user to combine information from the "(handheld game)", "(Sega game)" and "(arcade game)" articles for The Lost World into a single article. The merger also proposes merging info from The Lost World pinball game into this article. However, this may not be the right place for it, as it is technically not a video game.   • Would it not be easier to add links to all of them on the The Lost World: Jurassic Park page under an adaptations section? My main hesitation on bringing them all together is how drastically different all the games are. Especially since (Console Game) also has the historical distinction of being the first video game ever to have a fully orchestrated musical score written for it (I noticed that wasn't on the page, have added a section on the soundtrack). If you look at the top of the discussion page you can already see how much time was spent figuring out which games to split up and which to keep together. I'm not against bringing them all together, but I'm concerned that the page could become too convoluted. --TheTome (talk) 19:26, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • Links to other versions of the game could work too. It certainly sounds like it could be easier than merging all the info to a single page. Most games have differences when they're released on multiple consoles. In most video game articles I have come across, they usually list all versions of the game, with each version usually described in that same article, regardless of how different each version is. I assumed that was normal. But I agree that merging the articles may not be best in this case, as it could complicate this page. If the pages were to be merged, perhaps all the new information could be put in a new section on this page titled "Other versions", to prevent the article from looking cluttered.   • I have created an "other versions" section in all of the relevant games. Feel free to tweak it if you want. I was unsure about putting the "for other games based on The Lost World" a second time, but it does list games that don't really belong in the section such as Chaos Island.
