"The painting is centred on a bustling street in Finchley, London, England, specifically Tottenham Court Road." Technically, Finchley has only been in London since 1965 - previously it was in Middlesex. Tottenham Court Road has never passed through Finchley, though conceivably a different road running south from Finchley was so called in the 18th century. Or the scene is not in fact set in Finchley.
