Citation Needed[edit]

I removed "cited by many critics as one of his best." This needs a citation. It's better off removed instead of tagged w/ [citation needed] until whomever put it in finds some.--Atticus2020 22:46, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, whose song is it?[edit]

This is very confusing, one half of the article is about the original song, but the other is on the cover version. What for?--Vitriden 12:20, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I stumbled across this article the other day and I noticed the same thing. This article can't seem to decide if it's about the Iggy Pop song or the single released by Siouxsie & the Banshees, and it probably needs splitting. I don't know enough about it to do the necessary cleanup, but I do know that the Iggy Pop song was released as a single in 1998 in the UK (charted at #22), something that the article doesn't mention. Hi guys. I've been through this debate on Downtown (song) (see its talk page for the lively discussion!) and the consensus was that in general single articles should not be split; a number of examples in Wikipedia were cited where multiple popular versions of a song are covered in the one article, for instance Angels (song). I think we can do the same here, giving precedence to the original Iggy Pop version. I'm happy to make to necessary mods to this page along those lines but let's discuss further before anyone mucks around with it. Cheers, Ian Rose 23:11, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, I guess it just needs to have a separate section for the Siouxsie & the Banshees version. Certainly the UK single release of the Iggy Pop version is something that needs to be covered. I'll gladly assist in any way I can, but I only really came here looking for more info about the song, not because I know a great deal about it! PC78 08:18, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I've had a go at cleaning this up by moving various bits around. It doesn't look as pretty as it did before, but I do think it's the way to go. PC78 08:19, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've just reverted a number of edits by a couple of non-registered users - if you don't like the current layout of the article and want to improve it then that's great, but please don't just revert without trying to address some of the concerns raised here. Thanks! PC78 15:36, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

another cover[edit]

There is a cover of this song on the soundtrack for "He Died with a Felafel in His Hand", but I'm not sure by whom. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.130.6.195 (talk) 23:29, 7 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

That version was recorded by Rowland_S._Howard.

I think Bauhaus did another. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.98.89.233 (talk) 09:40, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Siouxsie Passenger.jpg[edit]

Image:Siouxsie Passenger.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Image copyright problem with Image:IggyPopLustForLife.jpg[edit]

The image Image:IggyPopLustForLife.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.
