Why Delete?[edit]

I don't see a good reason for deleting this article; Davenant was a significant figure in 17th-century drama, and The Platonick Lovers is one of his key works. Ugajin 07:24, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality?[edit]

I haven't read the play so I can't speak to whether the characterization of it is accurate, but the structure of the phrasing "until Theander is given medicine to "cure" him of his chastity that he sees women as existing primarily as objects meant solely for men's desire" sounds like hyperbole. It's not impossible that it's accurate though, given the style of satire at the time. Can anyone confirm that this is accurate or inaccurate? Pellucid (talk) 18:28, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
