Article is about a less famous Shags band[edit]
I flagged the article because it appears to be about a group that has the same name but is not the most famous 60s rock band known as The Shags, which was founded in New Haven, Connecticut. 5Q5 (talk) 19:24, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
There was no shortage of groups called the Shags in the mid-'60s. There were Shags across the country in states such as Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, Florida, Indiana, and Canada - not to mention New Hampshire's rhythmically-challenged, all-girl, double-g Shaggs. The New Haven Shags, however, were by far the most well known, successful, and influential, and they actually hold the registered trademark of the name for performing musical groups. (Violante registered the name in 1965.)

- I've removed the tag because it's not appropriate for this article. If you want to write an article about the New Haven band - assuming they are sufficiently notable, which I don't have a problem with - that's fine, go ahead, for instance here. The issue of how the different articles should be titled can be addressed if and when that article is created - but there's nothing wrong with the accuracy of this article. The flag, which did not include the word "accuracy" read: "The neutrality of this article's title, subject matter, and/or the title's implications, is disputed. This is a dispute over the neutrality of viewpoints or other implications of the title, or the subject matter within its scope, rather than the actual facts stated. Please see the relevant discussion on the talk page. (January 2011) The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office online records confirm that the New Haven Shags co-founder Thomas Violante filed for trademark protection. Since this is a biographical article, it is wrong and defamatory to give the impression that this particular band originating in Wisconsin is the only Shags band and the most famous one, so I am going to add a line to correct that misrepresentation.5Q5 (talk) 19:24, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
- Fine. Just write the article about them, and there won't be a problem, will there? This article is about a different band. No-one is suggesting they were the only band of that name.
