"(Retired)"?[edit]

Why is this included in his name at the start of the article? This article covers his whole life, and he clearly wasn't "Retired" while he was on active service! 86.136.251.177 (talk) 00:31, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article starts with his titles, qualifications and honours at the point he died. Rewind to any point before his death and you remove a title. Eventually you get back to when he wasn't retired. Rewind further and he's just Tom Brownrigg, Esq. We need to pick a point for his honours and I think death is that point (also, this is how the sources say he referred to himself, with RN (Rtd) at the end). Anything else is inconsistent or requires a section describing his honours and titles: it's just easier to get them out of the way at the start. REDVƎRS 17:18, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
