"Father of entomology"?[edit]

Article about William Kirby says the same. Which one is now correct? --Yerpo (talk) 15:00, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not really the same. William Kirby was an Englishman and is considered the "founder of entomology", while Thomas Say was an American and and is often considered to be the father of descriptive entomology in the United States. JoJan (talk) 16:29, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The infobox explicitly states "father of entomology". Other sources I've seen (such as this one) support your phrasing, so I fixed the infobox entry accordingly. --Yerpo (talk) 08:05, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
