Question[edit]

Why only automotive direct-control throttle? Should this page include details of aircraft throttles, unrelated to the internal combustion engine —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.177.58.133 (talkcontribs) 02:43, 15 November 2004

I agree, disambigifying. --24.114.252.183 15:43, 7 Feb 2005 (UTC)

thermal throttling[edit]

There is a different kind of throttling, which is used on some CPUs like Northwood or Prescott, when they get too hot. This is different from dynamic frequency scaling or Throttling process (computing). This kind of thermal throttling actually replaces some clock cycles w/ idle cycles w/o reducing the clock speed. This kind of throttling is called TM1 by Intel (TM2 lowers the multiplier like Intel SpeedStep, it is a form of dynamic frequency scaling). [1] [2] --MrBurns (talk) 02:47, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
