Notability[edit]

I removed the lack of notability tag. I had not heard of Todd McCarthy until I stumbled across this article today. However, I think that he is the most notable film critic that I have ever heard of besides Siskel and Ebert, and we might not have ever heard about them without their TV show. For 31 years, he was the chief film critic for Variety, the top film trade magazine in Hollywood at the time. If he is not a notable film critic, who is? Wikipedia has articles for individual TV shows, and TV show characters, and even the most obscure films, and I think that Todd McCarthy is far more notable. The unfortunate thing is that even a notable film critic who writes many articles, makes several documentary films and writes a book is unlikely to have books or articles written about him or her.
